I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences. Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.
Thank you!

hi there, i had my interview and haven't heard yet as well. Did you get a letter as well as an email, or just a letter?
thanks
I received my "alternate acceptance" letter last friday, March 18th. I also found out that another person from my interview group received it last week. I didn't receive an e-mail just a letter in the mail with the letter of intent.
I hope this helps anyone who is playing the waiting game.. I guess Ill be still playing the waiting game until Aug 3rd!!
Good Luck!
I heard that when a seat becomes available.. they review all the files and choose the best candidate to replace the candidate who isn't taking the seat. There isn't a ranking list, just a pool of applicants. All we do is wait..
You are correct. They do not have rankings and you really never know where you stand as an alternate unless you get accepted. It is a very difficult place to be in and all of you on the alternate list have done all you can at this point. Try and relax.
Western University attracts highly qualified individuals and must choose from this pool who they will take. Just because you weren't accepted doesn't mean you are not highly qualified to succeed in this program. There were more applicants this year than last year so the competition was much higher.
I had heard they only took 4 people off the alternate list last year. The previous year they had taken all alternates. It just depends on the pool of applicants and where they ultimately decide to go to school. If for some reason you are not given a seat this year. I suggest taking more classes, volunteer and speak with the admissions counselor after the Fall semester starts. They are there to help you and can give you ideas on how to strengthen your application.
GOOD LUCK to all the alternates! :heartbeat My heart goes out for to you.

Hello everyone! And congrats to those who have been accepted into the program!
I have a few questions for the people who've been accepted, as well as the other applicants. I'm very curious about your academic and career background...excluding anything related to G.P.A's and pre-req grades.
-What degree(s) did you have when you applied? BA, BS, MA, MS, ...? And what was your major/minor?
- Any previous health care experience, direct patient care experience, or related certifications?
- Community service or volunteer activities?
- Are any of you "second career" applicants? If so what was your previous line of work?
Feel free to post your resume's :chuckle:chuckle
