I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences.:D Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.

Thank you!

Please, please, could anyone help me answer the question above? Is it possible they still reject you even you got interview?

Hi Yqin,

Yes, it is possible to be rejected even if you interviewed. They only have about 60 slots but they interviewed over 100 people. Some of my friends already heard back. If you didn't and you still want to know, then I suggest you give them a call.

Sorry about the late response-my computer got a virus!! But everything is good now.

Personally the Pomona area like where the school is located isn't the best location. But chino hills is nice, but pricey. I like Montclair because I am right by the freeway and I only have to drive a couple miles and I am at the school.

Did you send your deposit in?

In my interview group there were some people that lived in Orange County area and they said they were just going to commute. I can only imagine haha.

Its okay. I'm glad everything is good now. Thanks for the information. I'm going to look into the Montclair area. I think I might have to find a roommate though cause its waaay too expensive to live on my own. I've thought about communting, I guess an hour drive to save money on rent would be kind of nice, but I communted 20 minutes for undergrad and I hated it. So we'll see if i'm able to find a place and a roommate I'll move if not commuting is a good option too. I did send in my deposit. Western is the only school I really applied to so there was really no decision that I needed to wait on.

I don't think I'd be able to handle the 1 hour commute. Have you heard anything about orientation or when school actually starts? Are you going to be working while in the program? I am not working the 1st semester and then I am going to see if I can handle a part time + school.

Did you apply to Western too?

Yep! Didn't even get an interview.. LoL.

I'm really happy for people who got interviewed cuz I was there waiting and understand how stressful that is. I've already told myself that I'll give it about 2 years to try to get in. I've read on other forums that many don't get in on their first try. I figured, I'm young so why not keep trying?

Hey all,

I interviewed Jan 30th... and i still haven't heard back (i don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing). Does anyone know if they sent out denial letters yet... Im trying to HOPE i get an alternate status...

AHHHH im freaking out!! Any help would be great! :banghead:

I got an email saying all final decisions will be mailed out by the beginning of April!

as27,

I think orientation is aug 3rd or so. Not exactly sure when school starts. They sent me a website that had some really useful information on it. http://prospective.westernu.edu/nursing-msn-entry/admitted.html

Hope it helps. :)

As for working, I don't think i'm going to work, but I haven't really decided for sure yet. If I do, it might just be a day or two.
