Shes saying they can be included in the courses needed to be completed at along with the nursing courses within the 6 month semester for free. Also I was told by the admissions coordinator that does the transcript appeals and also my admissions coordinator that they accept ACE credits and courses taken thru Straighterline can be transcribed on an ACE transcript. I just completed Nurtrition and will complete Eng 1 in a couple days. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Thanks Tiffany

so the semesters are 6 months and i read that the program is 8 semesters ,correct. The program would take 4 years to complete?

Yes, you can take them through straighterline. Just make sure you take the classes with the lab component or they won't count. I am working on straighterline for as well.

The program can be much shorter. It all depends on how many classes you take in 6 months. You can take as many classes as you can in 6 months, so it won't necessarily take you 8 semesters.

There is a formal articulation agreement between and StraighterLine, which means that SL courses transfer directly upon admission to WGU (you do not need to go through the ACE credit transfer process). StraighterLine has degree maps that show exactly how SL courses fit within your intended WGU degree program, including the nursing degree programs: http://www.straighterline.com/degree-maps/partner-college-degree-pathways.cfm.

In fact, more than 10 courses offered by StraighterLine fit into the WGU nursing degree programs (prelicensure and RN to BSN programs). Another nice part of this relationship is that students transferring SL courses to WGU also receive up to a $200 tuition credit from WGU upon admission there (http://www.straighterline.com/partner-colleges/western-governors-university.cfm).

One note - for the nursing program prerequisites, WGU requires proctored exams, which you can do with your StraighterLine course via ProctorU.

Will the classes that are not yet offered on the nursing pathway prerequisites (ie. microbiology, microbiology w/lab, and Biochemistry) be offered by SL? And if so, is there a time line?

We're exploring that now and are very much interested in finding a way to offer those other nursing prerequisites. Our next course launch will likely be in 4-5 months, which would be earliest that could be a possibility. Once the course set is identified, we typically let students know on our site as "coming soon." Thank you for your interest!
