In home assessments
Hi I was moved along to interview with the onboarding clinical recruiter that was supposed to take place today but the recruiter did not successfully submit me. So after speaking with her and waiting all day she admitted she made a mistake and now I'm scheduled for interview #2 on Tuesday. This has been the longest process as far as interviewing goes I have been through and Ive been through the VA process and we all know that can be long lol.

Trach MAR
- Trach MAR
Hello everyone my facility just admitted our first Trach patient. I am looking for a MAR that is specific for trach care/management. TIA!- VA Hiring Process
Yes please don't give notice until you have an offer letter in your hand. Here in MI the beginning of this year I was selected for a position at the VA, went through EVERYTHING including boarding which is the process of when they figure out your salary. I had given my job notice because I was told of a tentative date but no offer letter yet. Then comes the fiscal dept doing the annual thing they do. Low and behold I contact the HR dept because it had been 2 months now since the whole process started and told them I received a email stating that the position I was selected for was cancelled. They told me that unfortunately all the positions were rescinded and they will not be bringing all the individuals who went through the entire process because of budget constraints. So yes please don't give notice until you have a letter in hand. Tiffany J.- Chosing between two schools for FNP program
Can you please PM me your feedback on South University. That was my first choice but I went with Walden and am thinking about transferring due to the lack of the support staff (academic advisors). The hike in tuition doesn't sit well with me when I can't get assistance with bias instructors. TIA!!- Using an RN's license
The RN is not responsible for the LPNs work. It is a federal law that a RN is in the building for at least 8 hours a day ,7 days a week unless the facility has a waiver. It's an OBRA regulation. The DON cannot be counted when considering this. Whomever is signing the assessment is responsible for it. Both, RN and LPN can legally complete an admission or fall assessment. In MI, LPNs use to be house supervisors but most nursing facilities are doing away with that to have more RNs in management positions. Tiffany- Staffing agencies for home care in Detroit area?
I would love to know as well. I am completing a MSN FNP program with Walden Univ and would love to find a bigger HOme care company. I am currently with a small, very small company and sometimes I have no patients. I am from Detroit as well and a WGU grad class of 2012. I finished in 5 months while doing home care so it is doable. Good luck!!- I got the job!!
Congrats CandyGyrl..is the pay decent, I turned down an interview for Admissions Coord because I hate interviewing. Any advice you care to share to sharpen my interviewing skills and about Hospice of MI. I may apply again since they are offering a sign on bonus..who knows- I got the job!!
Kindred Healthcare in Detroit is looking for RN's on the Midnight shift. Shoot me a pm if interested in more details.- Does School Really Matter?
I believe its up to the person who is considering you. I work at the VA here in Detroit and was interviewed twice. The first time the clinical manager was ready to hire me until he noticed I graduated from Excelsiors LPN to RN program. He did not personally like the College. A lot of people are stuck thinking if you don't attend a brick and mortar school but choose online instead, the education received is subpar..just my opinion. I am attending Waldens FNP prog starting in Sep and they have just contracted with a well known and respected hospital system (DMC) here in MI so I should be ok.- Coordinating insulin admin +/- 15 mins of tray being passed
The morning shift does the check and administers the insulin as well where I work. Apidra has a before and after window in regards to eating/trays, I think of about 15-20 mins if im not mistaken.- NP preceptor
Hi DNPstudent I have a question regarding FNP clinical preceptors. I tried to PM you but your message box is full. Do you have any suggestions or leads you can share in the Detroit ? I start my prog 9/4 and students are required to find their own preceptors. Thanks! Tiffany- Walden University has new FNP and AGNP Programs
You're welcome and she is in the process of making it a public group.- Walden University has new FNP and AGNP Programs
If its the group a fellow WGU graduate made then yes its a private group..I will let her know that students are trying to join so she can open it.You do have to be invited to the group as of right now. - Trach MAR
