  1. I'm an FNP with 4 months of primary care experience looking to move into doing locum tenens. For those who have done it what was your experience like? Also, what was the average hourly pay? I don't want to take a pay cut. Thanks!
  2. Any NPs currently or use to speak professionally for drug companies? If so how did you go about acquiring these positions? Thanks.
  3. How long did they take ti process your credentialing and is the virtual training paid? I'm in the same boat.
  4. Lol I hear ya! What all do you put in it? I've considered doing the same! Lol
  5. I'm a new FNP in a primary care practice part time and the rest of the time seeing patients out in the Alfs. It was my first two days last week and it's pretty overwhelming! The MD saw a few pts but it pretty much was me on my own with referring back to him for questions. My concern is that I'm of course forgetting a lot of things. For instance remembering to look at allergies for all pts. It's just impossible to treat someone with 30 diagnoses in one visit!! I'd love to hear how the experienced NPs transitioned from novice. Did you guys make checklists or cheat sheets to remember everything? Also how do you guys handle having to constantly look up info?
  6. Actually I make my hours as I go so volume isn't a concern. I've expressed as a new graduate how many patients I'm comfortable seeing and only psych I'm comfortable with treating is depression and or anxiety. He seems to be readily available to his other NPs so that may not be an issue also. Thanks for the feedback!
  7. For those NPs who are independent contractors I have a few questions. I recently accepted an independent contractor job with two half days in the primary care office and the other days spent seeing medical and psych (to my capabilities) patients in nursing home facilities. Split is 60/40 medical and 50/50 psych. I make my own hours. Only thing provided is malpractice insurance. 1. I was told I need to set up a business. For those who have an LLC or corporation did you name it something else or just after your name? 2. Should I also purchase my own malpractice insurance? I'm a new FNP. 3. How do you keep track of all expenses etc. Someone told me about an accountant program called Deductr which looks worth the money. Thanks!
  8. Awesome! Do you do this part time? Which company do you work with?
  9. PM sent!☺
  10. EXACTLY! Please school her...
  11. Any NPs currently or gave done in home assessments? If so any pros and cons and how did they pay? Hourly or per assessment?
  12. Why would I not become an NP just because SOME MDs hate us?? 10 years from now I don't see any MDs even doing primary care.
  13. Why should anyone consider not doing NP because MDs hate them?? It's that mentality of nurses that doesn't help the profession at all!
  14. Awesome! Thanks!
