Westchester Community College(WCC) Spring 2014

I received a call yesterday saying I was accepted to the Spring 2014 RN program. I wasn't accepted for the Fall 2013 RN. I was surprised because I was told originally when I asked that I couldn't take the TEAS until next year for next Fall and they wouldn't apply my current TEAS score to the Spring semester. So this is totally the opposite of what I was told before. My score was 75.3. So I was asked if I wanted to continue with the LPN program that I was accepted to for Fall 2013 or chose the RN for Spring 2014. I chose to go straight for the RN! So excited. I had to change my schedule for Fall though :( Has anyone else heard from the Nursing department about acceptance into the Spring 2014 RN program??? Please post when you do. They said they would officially send out orientation letters in a few weeks. Good luck to anyone who applied for the Spring!

Thanks for the book list noel877! and thanks for the advice KingWCC! Hope to see you in orientation! I just hope orientation is sometime in July. I have a planned vacation from August 10-15. I really want to be at orientation.

Besides the books that I listed, the following is what they told us to gett

Uniforms from sandhuniforms.com (There's a specific style number so don't buy until after orientation)White shoes

RN Pack ($83.50) from cestudents.com

Watch with seconds hand

pen light

stethoscope

That's about it.

When you login to WCC does it say you're in the nursing program?

I got my letter on the 3rd (yay!). When I log into MyWCC, it still says Practical Nursing as my major.

Orientation is October 4th...can't wait! :-)

Congrats on your acceptance. I didn't get my letter yet again(sigh). I wonder if this has to do with where you live from the school(I am in the Bronx)...I however did get the call from the 7909 number so i am not gonna stress myself out over it.

The only bad thing about morning class is majority of students say they are not the "morning type." Fortunately for me i much rather having morning class/lab. What i am going to do is study/read daily so before an exam i don't have to cram everything at the same time. A study group is a must for nursing if people actually study/exchange ideas/questions.
