Anyone else here is applying for the WCC nursing program in the Fall (2013)?

I just took my TEAS test today and kinda nervous. I really don't know what all my scores mean yet and I'm hoping someone else in here is in the same boat as I.

Hello everyone!

As a current nursing student in the WCC day program, I wish you all the best of luck! I remember being in your shoes! From what I know, the nursing instructors mainly focus on your TEAS score. They do look at your GPA as well (as well as your science GPA) but their main concern is the TEAS score. I scored an 88% when I took the TEAS but I also have a classmate who scored a 76% and he's doing quite well in the program. Once again, best of luck to all of you!

Thanks for your post going4theko. If one of your classmates got in with a 76% then I might have a chance. I scored an 81.3%.

Do you plan on going for your BSN or MSN when your done with WCC?

Hey guys,

I am taking classes at WCC but I am not in the nursing program. I am taking pre-reqs to apply for an ABSN program elsewhere. I have heard there is a waiting list at WCC---maybe 2 years? I have no idea what that means... maybe the most qualified applicants still get in and others get added to a waitlist?

Does anyone who is in the program know what the waitlist entails?

Just curious. Thank you!

Hi wcc_hopful,

I do plan on pursing either a BSN or MSN after I complete the program...not quite where I want to go yet though! I've been looking at Pace, Lehman and CNR...it all depends on which school can give me the most aid.

Hi awildsoul,

From what I know, there is no waiting list at WCC. They invite the people who scored the highest on the TEAS test into the nursing program.

Thanks for your input and encouragement going4theko.

From what I've heard, there are only two people that scored in the 90's. My buddy for a 91 and there is another person with a higher score. I myself scored an 84 with high hopes, but was just accepted to Cochran today. That's where it's looking like I'm going.

Congratulations on getting accepted to Cochran. I was accepted yesterday as well. See you in September.

Has the application deadline passed for Cochran?

They were thinking of extending it to June 1 but I would call and check.

Interesting new development for the WCC nursing program. Here what they posted on their facebook page.

The Nursing Program will not only be accepting a Fall class, but we will also be accepting a Spring class! The deadline for Fall 2013 Nursing applicants has passed. If you are not a current student and would like to apply to be considered for the Spring 2014 ADN Nursing program, the Admissions Office will accept your application until April 19. Additionally, to be considered for the Spring 2014 Nursing program, new and continuing students will need to complete and submit the TEAS form by May 3 to the Admissions Office. Students who took the TEAS exam in March 2013 for acceptance for Fall 2013 will not be eligible to retake the exam at this time. For details, email [email protected].

Hey timothy, were there only two people in the 90s for the entire test at wcc? or did you mean you have only encountered two people in the 90s? I scored a 91.3, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.=]
