honestly, if you paid out of pocket each month (which one of my cousin actually does)... it will cost right under 4k. but everyone usual gets financial aid, and federal loans.. she just choses not to have any loans . my monthly payment when i finish school is projected 1200. new grads bring home around 1900 a check ( in la county ) , so its doable . my husbands friend bought himself a new bmw, lived at a relatives house and paid EVERYTHING off in 2.5 years... it's all about what you want in life, and having tremendous discipline.

I say, to each their own. As long as you go into this knowing fully well what you're getting yourself into. If this is your best bet for fulfilling your dream, then go for it. For me, this is just too scary. I ran the numbers and I don't think it's worth it. I will say that the thought of going to West Coast made me really buckle down and come up with an alternate plan. My route to BSN is going to cost me about $41,000. Not cheap, by any means. But in the end, it's not going to break me.

Good luck to all.
