Hi everyone,
I was just accepted into BSN program at West Coast University in Dallas TX for fall 2012. Has anyone graduated from this school? If so, was your experience positive or negative? Are the teachers great? What do you guys think about this school? It's extremely expensive!!!! Please help
Financial Aid/Grants/Scholarships are based on individual circumstances, not schools. WCU will help you determine what you qualify for and give you the tools to apply/collect. This is the way that all financial aid offices work at all colleges. The opportunity to participate is the same.
When you start at WCU they tell you up front what your degree is going to cost and they work out a plan with you. They deduct what you qualify for and they spread the balance evenly over the course of your time at the school. Some people pay monthly, some people pay by term. They are very flexible with the plan, but are very strict on no allowing you to start each term and/or allow you to take finals in that class with any type of outstanding balance. You will be required to sign a contract before you start.
Hope that helps.
OKay that's good to know cause I start in April for their spring term. I guess I will have to talk to them cause I don't want to feel like I'm letting myself down. The amount 1200 a month is kind of high but if they are willing to work with me on the payments then that will be something that I will consider. But I will not know until I speak to the financial aid. I applied to all type of student loans and gotten co-signer and still being denied and thats frustrating. Do you think they will help me in anyway to apply on my behalf to other sources. Or I will have to speak with them.
All they can say is no, so it's worth the asking for sure. I don't think they will apply for you, but I think that they will point you in the right direction and give you advice on where to go. I am thinking that you should have already met with them, if you have been accepted? Did you already sign a contract?
I have met with financial aid thats how they gave the amount that I will have to pay monthly. Do you know sif they will break down the payment plan in a reasonable amount that you can afford? But I did email the director of the school to see if there is any other way to apply for assistance. She stated that she forward my email to financial aid. So hopefully somebody will respond back.

Great, thanks! I'm waiting to hear back from three community colleges, but I have all of my pre-reqs for upper-level classes. My GPA is only a 3.0 so I am sure I will not be accepted into TWU or UTA, which is why I am going for my ADN then BSN. If I could get into WCU and get financial help, that would be nice.
Thanks so much for your quick response!
