Hi,
I am preparing to meet with a financial aid counselor at the OC campus of West Coast university. I know that my EFC is 0, so I'll qualify for everything financial aid has to offer. I'm also finishing my last couple prerequisite courses this Spring at a local community college so I'll only be paying for nursing core.
I juts want to know if anyone else has been in my situation and been able to attend. My dreams are so close, and I'm scared to have the door slammed in my face because of money.
Any advice would be great. Thank you!
just an example of mine Direct Costs for Academic Year* $16,624.00
Federal Grants ........................................................................................... $6954
Federal Direct Subsidized Loan.........................................$3500
non subsidized loan ............................................................$2000
left to pay after federal loan and grants $4,422.00
how I made It? parent plus loan. My mom doesn't have the best credit but she was still approved! hope this helps someone.
Hey! its been actually good, I have 3 classes their all online one class I meet ever Monday and the other every Tuesday. I have 2-3 assignments a week per class. so it's not that bad definitely something that's helped me is a planner. the admission process took just one day! financial aid and admissions. and my nursing entrance exam is in 8 weeks and they put you in a class where they prepare you for that test.
so I didn't have to take an entrance exam because I did my SATS and the school approved the score so now I just have to take the TEAS. so basically getting accepted it really east. if you got the TEAS already and got a 58 percent or the HEISI (think you spell it like that) or your GPA/sat scores.
Hi,
I am a current WCU student, also in the BSN program. So far it has been good. I have been paying tuition out of pocket. I am so confused when it comes to the financial portion. It is time to repackage for the upcoming term and I was hit with two "semester" payments. Please correct and advise me. I was under the impression when I first enrolled that the Financial Aid Offer letter covering tuition for 10 months would be divided into 10 monthly payments covering that 10 month period, ex 8/19-6/16. Well now they are telling me, it is per semester?? So instead of the 1-time tuition per 10 months I am being billed a full 10-month term tuition every 3-4 months? The financial advisor assigned to me is no help at all in explaining anything!
@Nydia Diaz oh my! That sounds horrible! I really hope this is not the case. I haven't enrolled or anything yet, and I really don't know how I'll be paying for it. This is kind of scary.

So I've been doing my pre-req's and I'm almost done.
Just had a few questions if you don't mind..
•Was your program time cut short since you transferred all of your pre reqs?
•What was your total tuition since you didn't have to take the pre reqs there?
•Did you get financial aid? If so did any go towards you/living expenses or did it just go to tuition?
•What was your class schedule like? How many times a week?
