Hi Everyone!!!!!
So lol I'm going to put my life in a nutshell, I'm 20 yrs old and I live in NY, and I'm considering on going to WCU to obtain my BSN, I have most of my science and general ed pre-reqs completed. I decided to go this route cuz I just wanted to get this over with, and I most definetly like the idea of getting my bachelors in 2yrs time versus getting my associates degree at my local community college in the same amout of time. Anyways I have read about the costs and stuff but I have just some basic questions for anyone that just enrolled, currently enrolled or an alumni of WCU.
1. How time consuming are the classes?
2. Are the clinicals hard?
3. Was the HESI entrance exam easy and what did it consist of?
4. What are the costs?
5.Are they helpfull at finacial aid?
6.Would a person be able to work full time while attending?
That's all I can think of as of now, so whatever help you can give me will be greately appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chikita =)
Good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good is better and your better is best!
Hi. How was the HESI testing. I know it is your basic math, english and reading, but when I was reviewing the study guide, I didn't realize how much I had forgotten. Any tips on the most difficult part of the test? What is the passing score and how long did it take you?Thank you!!
I can answer some of your questions - it is weighted so if you scored 80% or better on the TOTAL test then you will pass the exam. I bombed the math portion but still passed because I did well in other areas. They give you about 4 hours for the test I think? It did not take me more then an hour or so though...
i had to take it twice... the first time i got a 79.8... since u had to get a 80...i had to take it again.. and the second time i got a 92.9. VOCAB IS THE HARDEST FOR ME.. just a lot of the words i wasnt familiar with.. in the math section there were some metric conversions and in the study guide u should review that.. other than that when u take the test just take your time and read everything carefully..=) good luck.. i only studied for it about 1 weeks... or well first test i had one week and then second test one week...
Hi everyone!
I just did my own research. I spoke to a few people at CCNE today! They said that WCU is doing everything that are supposed to do. For a new program, they do not do pre accreditation. So it will take some time. if everything is going as it should, WCU LA would have their credentials in April 2010. It will be grandfathered in for those who starts anytime before, and graduate after that. CCNE sounded positive. You can call CCNE if you'd like to at (202) 463-6930.
See you at WCU
:)
I also called ACICS and asked if they were Nationally recognized, and they are.
So WCU, are nationally accredited through ACICS, and they are approved by BRN, and they are in the process of getting CCNE, which would be final in April 2010.
ACICS - (202) 336-6780 (Spoke to Elizabeth. She was very helpful)
CCNE - (202) 463-6930
BRN - (916) 322-3350
Hope all this is helpful!
