Well, survuved my first two days of nursing school...

And the instructors don't even have fangs!

After a three-year wait, I'm FINALLY on my way. I know there are going to be days I'll wonder what in the heck I got myself into, but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?

Seriously, the instructors all seem very nice and even-tempered (have heard and read horror stories about nurse instructors from hell), and like myself, most of my class are middle-aged career changers so we're all pretty serious about our mission for the next two years.

Any other newbie nursing students out there as of this week?

Congratulations on starting the journey! No, very few of the teachers truly have fangs.

One of the most notorious "meanest" instructors in my school (she's a great teacher, a great nurse, and has very high standards) gave me a hug this summer when we were going through a cancer crisis with a family member. It was so wonderful to see that side of her, I wished my classmates could have seen her.

Don't believe the horror stories, NS instructors have a hard job, just respect that, work hard and you'll be fine.

Congratulations, you can do it. Just keep going. I too am in my second week of the RN program, 3rd semester. I went the LVN to RN bridge route. It is overwhelming especially since I have major anxiety, stress and menopause right now. But I believe with God's help we can do anything. God bless us all. :yeah::bowingpur:nurse::bow::wshgrt::anpom::anpom::anpom:
