Well....I have my books....now I'm nervous! LOL

So, I picked up my books this morning and classes start next Monday! I am taking Psychology, Sociology, Political Science and English!!! I am also an "older" student - so, this will be an experience for me! LOL I am hoping I am up for the challenge.....very nervous though!!! I sure hope I am smart enough for this!!!

I'm right there with you! I'm am "older student" (I just turned 45) and I'm starting the pre-nursing program this week! I have A&P 1 and College Math this semester and A&P 2 and Medical Terminology over the summer. I've already taken the math class at a community college (with an A) but my nursing school offers guaranteed admission if you take these 4 classes through the school and earn a 3.25 GPA so I'm doing that. After that, all I'll have to take are nursing classes since I already have ENG, SOC, PSY, etc. . I'm ready!

BTW....26 is NOT an "older student"! LOL

Wow! What school is that that offers guaranteed admission? Not that I am not willing to work hard but I am always researching different schools and what they require.

It's a hospital-affiliated school in NC. It was just ranked the #1 two-year college in the nation! If you are accepted into their pre-nursing program (like me! hooray!), you can earn guaranteed admission into their nursing program by earning a 3.25 in those 4 classes I mentioned. It's costing me a few thousand dollars more by taking the classes through the school rather than a community college but it's worth it to me. Being 45, I don't have time to wait around for acceptance so I'll do whatever it takes to earn guaranteed admission.

you guys are the BEST!!! Thank you so much!!!!

and I have to agree......26 is not old! LOL

I am 40...turning 41 in March...now, that's mature!! LOL

well not starting school at 18 makes me feel like im old. most ppl my age have already graduated so i feel that ive got catching up to do and wish i had time and $$ and the determination i have now:banghead:

Yep, agreed with that! I had to take a CNA class and since I chose the night class during the week, there I am sitting with a bunch of 16 year olds! And now I guess with parent permission, you can start pre-reqs at 16 at my school!

im 38 and in my 2nd semester starting friday....i am loving school ,it is tough working and everything but i am so glad i made the decission to do it after years of wanting too..you will do fine ended 1st semester with 3.75gpa not bad for not being in school for 20 years
