Weird question... what do you all think?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I just earned my CMSRN and need to turn my "congrats!" letter and certification card in to my HR office, and they will make me a new nametag that has My Name, RN.. and then under that, CMSRN.

Nurses who have their BSN's also get to have BSN on their tags under their names. Since I have a BA, shouldn't I get to wear that on my nametag? I mean, it really isn't a big deal... but I'm kinda proud of my bachelor's degree and most people that I work with don't even know that I have one. I know it really doesn't pertain to my job much, but OTOH we have the "clinical ladder" at work and anyone who has a bachelor's degree in anything, can use that towards their clinical ladder.

I haven't even asked them yet, so it isn't like they said no. But do you all think I'm lame for even wanting it on my nametag?

Go back and ask for your BSN credentials to be added to your badge. You've worked hard for it, so go for it!

Congratulations! I would definately ask HR about it. I know you are so proud and they should be proud of you too! Which agency did you go through for your certification. I've heard of RNC but not CMSRN. Thanks!
