Stars I know you have been anticipating this but it is a hard transition nonetheless, knowing that the end will come for him soon.  I will keep you both in my prayers

Tweety hope you feel better

NJ22 I had to wait a long time at Walgeens for my shot

Dianah thanks for the photos

Ado I hope you get home all right

Hi TMB and sirI

Yesterday was another pretty good day at work.  Hope this trend continues, would be nice not to have to rush before my vacation

Did some texting with family and spoke with my dad regarding my aunt's situation.  Dad is supposed to forward me an email from a cousin with more details than I have gotten

Fairly quiet day in general, ran an errand or two after work and exercised.  Tonight will likely be the same

Another unusually warm day in the mid 80s

Good morning!

Joe, glad you had a pretty good day at work.

Stars, hope your husband improves some improvement and his chronic conditions can be managed and that he stays sober, although now is a rough spot for him because of detoxing.  Regardless hope he's comfortable.  Time will tell.

I still have a slight dull headache but feel more rested.  My BP was 128/75 last night which is an excellent reading for me.

Yesterday after spending a good deal of the morning doing trauma education for work which is required because we're a trauma center and watching a movie with best friend I got nothing done around the house other than a load of laundry.  Need to get some of that done, shop and do two days of meal prep.

(((Stars)))...   Momo came at just the right time.

Hugs to you, No Stars !

The nurse called me this morning and said hubby was more alert, and knew where he was and who I was, etc. Doesn't mean he's out of the woods yet, but she was very cheery about his condition compared to yesterday. Then I got a message from his daughter and it said "we",( ie, whoever came with her) are on the Interstate and would be at the hospital soon. So I am up and dressed, and will get Nannie up in a while.

More later...

His dgt said he was "in and out" but that he knew who she is, though she had to re-introduce her dgt to him, She said she washed his face and put lotion on his legs. When they come over in a while, I will get to go over to see him. Probably when I am there I will see the discharge planner, as well. He's certainly not ready for discharge, but he has to go somewhere to finish more of the detox/rehab stuff and PT to strengthen his legs and balance. I am going to try NOT to have him sent home with home health, because it would still be too much for me with him here.

I found a dresser drawer full of little empty vodka bottles.....about 2 dozen empties and one still un-opened. And I have to go out to the Ford to see what he has stashed there. Everything is all going to get ditched!

Well, I saw hubby and he is better, but still has a ways to go. He is on a different floor now because he is no longer "on the verge" of The End.  I did not see the discharge planner today, but there's time enough for that. Hubby knew who I was (always a good sign ? ). He said he wants me to bring him a pepsi-cola and a donut, but he is NPO. They tried this AM to see how he did swallowing a small amount of liquid, but he wasn't so good at that, so they will have speech-therapy work with him, and PT and OT as well. He is able to cough now. He has the mitten off his hand , though he still picks at his ID bracelets and  IV's, but has a sitter keeping an eye on him. He is down to a regular nasal cannula. The opti-flow was pushing in FORTY liters of 02! YIKES! They still have to monitor his resp and adjust the 02 periodically. His ammonia level is down, but everything he went into the ER with, they are treating, so that's good.

My step-dgt and her dgt vacuumed the den and cleaned up the kitchen while I was out, very much appreciated. Step-dgt is no longer being as snotty as she used to be, thank goodness. And this does not make me feel superior to her, but since she always used to gossip about how awful a wife I was to her dad, and my weight....tee-hee, now she is the FAT one (good ol' peri-menopause!) and *I* am the slender one, at 163 lbs. ? ?

The neighbor who brought us supper last night is also going to bring us supper tonight. Such a relief, and it is good to be able to accept assistance; it is SO appreciated! Everyone is being so great.

I stopped by the funeral home on my way back, to give them the info I didn't have yesterday, and the photo we want in an obit. I am going to go ahead and make a down-payment and can make payments as low as $50/month if I have to. We may not need it right now, but it will be good to have it settled, Just In Case, 'cause ya never know....!

Waiting on our supper delivery. Watching the network news. No ballgames for Braves tonight.

It's wonderful to hear that you are getting some much needed support.  My prayers continue.

Thank you for the update, No Stars, and good he is doing better (and recognizes you)!  Prayers continue!  Good to read you are getting support, too, that is helpful!

Quiet day.  I took a tea mug over to my former office mate's new office, in the Clinic building (off-site from where we used to work, when doing Case Mgmt for the dept).  I was able to catch her after her last patient, and we had a nice natter during her lunch time, and she had no patients scheduled in the afternoon.   It was very nice to see her and visit!

When I got home, dh and I had lunch and then before he started the afternoon jam, I made a one-pot pasta dish that we will eat on for the next couple days.  Then I had about an hour to read.

Hope you all have a good evening!

Stars, good to hear that Mr. Stars knows you and no longer needs the high-flow O2. I am glad you're getting good support. Know that we're pulling for you and praying for you.

I made it home after a long day. My flight from Dallas to OKC was canceled due to weather. I let them book me on a flight from Dallas to OKC tomorrow morning. But Hubs drove to Dallas to pick me up (2.5 hr drive). But my flight from Minneapolis to Dallas was diverted due to storms over Dallas and we were diverted to... OKC ?. You can't make this stuff up. When I let Hubs know that, he had just arrived at the airport in Dallas. In some pretty bad stormy weather. Twin A picked me up at the airport. Hubs had hired the sitter to stay with Gma. We are all safely home. My bag, though, is still on the plane in OKC that will fly to Dallas tomorrow morning. I've been assured they'll get it to me.

These adventures are getting harder!

Pics from Minneapolis: Paisley Park, the Bob Dylan wall, and Mary Richards (I knew I'd find her!)
