Well, I'm up, so good morning, I guess....
Day before yesterday my BiL went to an Urgent Care and they sent him to the hospital ER. He had some kind of drooping of his eyelid and his Boss made him go to the Urgent Care.
About a week or so ago he had a stent put in, and it seems they think he might have had a small blockage from something that got scraped off during the procedure, hence a 'small stroke'. I think they had done an ultrasound, and SiL told me what percentage of plaque had built up in his left carotid. Last I heard they were going to do an MRI. I sent a query to SiL asking how he was doing, but have yet to hear back. She had spent the night at the hospital before, and was aching from the chair she had sat in all night, so she was thinking she would not spend the night there last night, but I don't know if she did or not. Anyway, naturally this is all very worrisome. Since I am not in a position to offer any help to her, all I can do is hang out here and wait. Now I am worried about SiL as well.
Have no actual plans for today. If Nannie does her after-breakfast nap, I may go upstairs and finish preparing my "new" room for the eventual move, or start moving my clothes into the closet and dresser drawers. I can also move some of the smaller things out of the way and into the already crowded main bedroom, to make room for moving the dresser. I don't mean to sound selfish, but I was hoping BiL could get a big trash container moved over here so I could start tossing out the things I can handle, and then I would have to get some help ditching the cruddy box Spring and mattress. I can take the bed frame apart myself, but moving the box Spring/mattress downstairs to the den and out the back door, is beyond my current physical abilities. But, I can go through hubby's pipe collection and pull out the odd and interesting ones I want to keep. And he had saved the boxes many of the better ones came in; if I can have the 'good' pipes sorted out and boxed, it will be easier to sell them. Of course first I will have to find someone who knows about pipes and who I can trust to steer me to the right prices to put on them. I'd like to just sell all of them lock-stock-and-barrel to one pipe person and be done with it. But, we'll see.
Anyway it is time to get that Nannie-person up to her recliner, so here I go....

you do not need someone " who I can trust to steer me to the right prices to put on them." You have the internet. That is what someone who knows about pipes would use---the same sites,,, Look them up on eBay SOLD prices. Pipes are easy to pack when you have the original boxes and even without the original boxes. This is not something you need someone else to depend on. Sorry, but you need this money to live on, right? In fact eBay selling can be fun. You have a camera on your phone. eBay walks you through the whole thing (not like the 90s when I had to learn HTML - and I am not computer literate)
I hope your BiL doesn't have long-term problems. I don't blame you for some impatience about keeping the momentum going on clearing stuff out and moving to the larger space.
Here is my door decor. I'm competing with a bedlam reindeer (and a speculum reindeer) so I won't eon anything but I'm reasonably happy with it.
Got up kinda early to get the car in to the repair shop, for the cruise control radar unit, under the left front bumper. Apparently we hit some sort of road debris that knocked out the cruise control radar. Body work and parts/labor for the repair = 5K. We are going through insurance (at our agent's suggestion), and have a rental car. Repairs may be done by Monday.
Got some things at the grocery store (stuff I forgot yesterday), and made a casserole later, which we'll have for supper. I want to get a couple loads of laundry done too. Need to do some more shredding and dusting.
No Stars, hope your BIL continues to improve.
Ado, I like your door. The other with the wreath and reindeer is OK, I like the first better. ?
I found a recipe for toffee squares, might make it...
We have our band Christmas program this Sat, 20 min of music at a local house get-together.
Have a good evening!
Misty, foggy, damp day here, in the low 50s. My new lens was ready so I got that put into my glasses, then came home and made what feels like a bazillion cookies. but actually it was only 3 kinds: ginger, m&m magic bars, and snickerdoodle toffee swirls. Eldest ds stopped by, so I sent some cookies home with him. We watched the debate on TV, and it seemed very shouty. I plan to go to bed early tonight, because we're driving sis to Seattle for her pacemaker upgrade at O dark thirty.
NoStars, I hope BiL has no more symptoms. Could it have been Bell's Palsy?
Dianah, wow, that repair cost is crazy.
Annie, I like your door. Last year, when I was still working at the health department, we had a door decorating contest. I decorated ours with a Hanukah theme.

NJ22 hopefully he can get his A1c down fairly soon
Hi Stars
Tweety that is a bit odd
Ado I hope their moods improve, hard to spend a lot of time with irritable people
Work was busier than expected. Started early due to being off, which was good as I had 2 new cases. Then worked an hour late going over a lot of documents received. Was pleased that I was not angry about working late like I normally am. I figured I had nothing to do after work except exercise, so I didn't mind that much. Hopefully today won't be as bad.
After work, in addition to the exercise, went online and increased my car insurance deductible a bit to reduce the premium closer to what I was paying before the new vehicle. At some point I may contact an insurance broker to see if another insurer can do better
Today have laundry and grocery shopping so I won't be able to work late today, or at least not as late as yesterday
Bit colder today, in the upper 30s, thankfully no snow or rain like yesterday
