Tweety I hope the power stays on

Dianah sounds like a fun time

Stars glad things have quieted down there

Ado that sounds like an unusual place to meet for a book club.  Ours meets at an Italian restaurant

Things were thankfully quiet at work, despite having one coworker out sick.  We might have one coworker off today due the to hurricane, but I don't expect things to be too busy

After work met with the church group for our monthly dining out, about a dozen people so a good turnout.  Was texting with the leader of our environmental group about future plans for the group, after doing so I think I'll stick with it, at least for a while longer and see how things go

Tonight have grocery shopping after work, will try to fit exercise in if there is time.  Family is still debating dates for the reunion next year, looks like we'll likely push the date back into July, hopefully things won't be too hot then

Going to be quite a bit cooler today, will only get up to 70, though it will warm up quickly after that

Good morning!
Joe hope you have a good work day.

We did pretty well here with the hurricane coming close.  Wind and rain.  Still getting some residual rain gusts.  Some areas flooded from the surge.  Wondering what high tide will bring later, but overall did well.  The next block lost power but I saw a truck nearby and hopefully they will get power.  There aren't widespread power outages and thankfully I've kept power.

The bridges into the county both north and south are closed and people can't get in so work that live out of county, so work is keeping the Hurricane Emergency Response Team at work and us relief people home.  The way things are with the wind and potential flooding don't think the bridges will open soon but hopefully later.

I was very productive yesterday and all my chores are done so I'm a little bored.  I was all set to go to work when they called at 5:30.  I'd had coffee but laid down and my best friend blew up my texts so I just got up again.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Joe, it was a neat place. We ordered food/drink inside then sat at/around a table out by the small pool. It was only after our book discussion that one other and I got in the water, while another two sat with their feet in the water. We usually pick a restaurant or meet at a member's house. We also have some traditions: In October we'll have a bonfire at a member's house and tell ghost stories like we did last year. In November we usually do a "Friendsgiving" and there's a cookie exchange in December. Those will be at someone's house, too.

Good to hear Tweety.  Hang on, the tide may be super-sized.

Thanks for the update, Tweety!  Good you are relatively unscathed by the storm.

Hello all!

Not much planned for today.  Dh is waiting for electrical repair ppl to arrive, for the next-door neighbor's home.  He agreed to let them in, when they get here.

I was tired yesterday but unable to get to sleep till after 2:30, then woke up at 6 and couldn't get back to sleep.  Will take a nap today.  Sometimes it happens that way: even though I'm tired, since we had done music, I am winged up and unable to sleep.  Oh well.

It should be 104 today, and drop into the 90's for the next few days.

Have a good day!

Had to go out to get more of Nannie's pads and pull-ups. While I was out I stopped by the senior center to pick up the info sheets about the Sept. activities. Then I went next door to where there is a senior daycare center; got the paper work to apply for Nannie to go there some days during the week. Oh boy! I hope it can work out, so at least I will have time off for myself, and can do things that have been on hold for a LONG time!

I just got back and the first thing I did was go put out deer-corn. Within ten minutes the momma doe and her two kids came up and started eating. I like to see her look towards where I am sitting on the sofa; I always wave at her.

I have to call to get an appt to get the car to the dealership again because that stupid right front tire is losing air again. What's this, the 4th time that's happened? I don't get it. But it could be worse.

Nannie wants to know if there is some place she can go to bed and lie down to sleep. It's 3 PM and she has been up for all of 2 & 1/2 hours. HAH! But I decided rather than listen to her grunt and groan about wanting to go to bed, I let her go to the bathroom, and then into bed, wearing all her clothes. Wonder how long she'll stay there?

Hubby has gone out to do his 'shopping center' errand. The ballgame isn't on until 8:40 PM.

Today I bought the September issue of VOGUE; it is a yearly purchase for me (I am such a fashionable, chic woman, doncha know! ) The Sept issue is always funny and weird, as they present the 'new season's fashions' of hair and shoes and whatever they decide is the "latest." After I have a good laugh, I send some of the stranger photos to my sister. When we were way younger we used to get Glamour magazine because it tickled us when we were what they called "Glamour Don'ts" I used to watch my bangs go in and out of style. (Like I even cared!)

It is cloudy and humid, not terribly hot, but still pretty UGH. It rained and thundered again last night, and it is supposed to do so again today, and maybe tomorrow.

OK, all for now---

It is Gma's 93rd birthday so I think we need to pick up a birthday cake. Or make one, but picking it up sure sounds easier.

Hubs' granddaughters are 6 years old today.

Tomorrow a consultant is coming. Nice lady but I am not good at "hosting" people. I want to be able to do things on my own time. Oh well.

Hi.

Annie, a consultant for your home or work? I'm not good at hosting in my home. I gave up long ago trying to clean up dh's clutter, and I'm too embarrassed to have people in my home. He set up an office in one bedroom when he was a sales rep, and it's full of stuff. He took over the room that was supposed to be my office, we have an extra room downstairs that's full, and the garage is stuffed. The most exhausting part of hosting holiday dinners is cleaning up.

I volunteered with the gardening group this morning, and I've been dozing off and on for the rest of the day. I woke up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I was reading  facebook this morning about all the neighbors complaining about traffic while dropping off their kids for the first day of school. Wow, other that my very first day, I don't remember ever getting a ride to school.

I used to think about fashion, but now that I don't need to go to an office, phfft. Imma generally jeans and t-shirt kinda person.

Dh wants me to help him pick tomatoes. I don't understand what he needs my help for, but I said okay.
