Hi Tweety

NJ22 that would be annoying

Dianah we've read Sister Pelagia and the White Bulldog by Boris Akunin

Stars, I remember in the hospital we would try prune juice mixed with orange juice, also magnesium citrate mixed into fruit juice

Felt better yesterday. Was a good day at work, despite having a meeting and a new case.  Did laundry during lunch as I had book club after work.  Since we were doing a Russian novel we had some Russian members of another book club join us, it was a longer and more interesting discussion than normal.

Hoping today will be good at work as well, although we have not 1 but 2 meetings, though it looks like they will be short.  After work have to get the grocery shopping done, then going to check out a pickleball game at a local park district

Should be a nice day, in the mid 60s, no rain

A nice, 60 degree day. I just finished lunch after working in the demo garden. The dogs are all jazzed up because we shut them in bathroom when no one is home. They are stampeding in and out of the door, around the yard and then back into the house.
Youngest ds and I won trivia last night. There were 2 categories about deer, real and fictional. The image round featured celebrities wearing eclipse glasses. Ds was quite adept at recognizing them. He's also very good at the music round.
Stars, I think many providers are recommending Miralax for constipation. It's a tasteless powder that dissolves completely in liquid. It can be pricey, tho.
Gosh Tweety, I'm having flashbacks of my hospital days. Admits and transfers always came at shift change, and we called many a rapid response and a few codes as they rolled out of the elevator. And they were always transported by someone who didn't know anything about the patient. ED staff hated that we wanted a thorough report, but it came in handy when patients were crashing.

Joe, thanks for the reminder about the prune juice, bran, and applesauce mix for constipation! I can't believe it never occurred to me, as I have, in the past, made up so  many doses for so many patients! I went out and purchased a box of the FLEET'S mini-enemas, some glycerine suppositories (dulcolax).

Picture this: My great-niece ( 6 y.o.) holding a blackberry between her thumb and forefinger, right in front of her mouth....eyes closed... and she's saying, "Please don't be sour, please don't be sour!" just before popping it in her mouth. 😉

Good thing Nannie has no access to a phone, because now whenever there is a commercial on TV that says stuff like, "Ask your doctor..." or even WORSE, the lawyers and insurance ads that emphasize "CALL NOW!".... She tries to call my attention to it, wants me to write down the number, because, "They said we have to call them!"  🙄🙄

For supper, Nannie had a giant bowl of fresh fruit (mixed berries and melons, etc) and two pieces veggie pizza, and 8 oz of cranapple juice. She had a stool softener with a laxative in it with her breakfast. If nothing occurs by tomorrow morning, I'm calling in the SWAT teams!

Hello all!

Thanks for the book ideas, Joe!

nursej22, congrats on the trivia win!

No Stars, I hope you see some results soon, brought about "naturally."

We met today with our insurance agent/dh's financial advisor; had a nice chat and got more info for dh's investments.  Then I had dh take me over to Marshall's, where I had seen some new shower curtains I wanted to get.  Our current "design" is probably as old as the house -- 35+ years!  Time for a (not very expensive) change!

It was 80 degrees out, nice weather!  We were planning on going to the zoo up at Big Bear Lake tomorrow.  BUT, the highway up to the Lake (one of the two with access, and the one we prefer to take) is being closed for the annual bicycle race!  The racers will leave at 9am from the valley, and then ride their bikes up to Onyx Summit, some 8000ft in elevation!  Needless to say, the road will remain closed to traffic most of the day.  We will go to the zoo another time, maybe next week.

Have a good evening!

G'day.

Sorry you couldn't get or Dianah.

Congrats on winning Trivia J22.  I forget is it a live thing or online?

I'll probably meet with my financial advisor again soon for our annual review.  My funds in this account are up from a year ago, but still not recovered from 2021's high.

Miralax is favored by a lot of MD's but really it's mild and more a preventative like a stool softener.  Mag Citrate is my go to for patients.

Remember black and whites?  Prune juice mixed with Milk of Mag.  Yum.

Another shift change fall.  Smacked her head real good and CT was being done as I left.  I hope she's okay but really??

Back for two more shifts.  Bleh
