Im officially a nursing student :nurse:for the Weatherford College LVN program!!!!!!!!!:lol2:I soooo excited!!!!but nervous cause I prolly dont know anyone thats made it in...anybody else make it in to the program....or any tips or heads up on what to expect for this program?!?
mommap,
I don't know much about the LVN program, but I believe they take the Compass test instead of the TEAS (and the new TEAS V version is a KILLER). I don't believe you need corequisites/prerequisites that you need for the RN program... don't quote me on that. I think both routes to RN are good, it just depends on what is a best match for you personally.
Almost finished with my first semester in the WC LVN program! Whew!! It is going by so fast.
mommap...I have had several RN instructors tell me that LVN to RN is the way to go. Supposedly LVNs learn more bedside nursing and RNs learn a lot of theory based care. It is also easier to get into a transition program than straight RN. My ultimate goal is RN as well. Good luck!

I have officially been accepted into Weatherford College for the Vocational Nursing Program! woo hoo! I was also accepted by NCTC, but that would've been an extra 40 miles/day driving. At the time, I wasn't sure that Weatherford would take me, that perhaps I didn't score high enough on the math, etc. So for financial reasons, I have chosen Weatherford, that and all the good things I hear about the school in general. Anyone else a Jan 2011 LVN student?
