Weatherford College LVN Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone! So I have decided in my nursing program pursuit that I am going to go ahead and apply to the weatherford college lvn program and then bridge. Does anyone know what kind of schedules we will have? Trying to get an idea of work schedule vs school schedule. I am also going to take the compass help class to get a feel for it but im wondering if I should go on and try to take I it this week also just to get an idea what its like?? Anywho, if theres anyone else out there that will be applying with me come say hi! Oh also I will be commuting from masfield let me know if I have any close buddies for study groups if we get in!

I am currently retaking A&P 1 (hoping for to get an A, I have a B).

So to turn in your application you need compass test, application and hep serious proof. Am I missing something?

No that's essentially it app, transcripts if you have anything from somewhere other than WC, proof of at least first two hep B, and compass. Yea I'm gonna just LVN then bridge also I'm tired of taking prereqs and plus even if I applied to the adn program in December wouldn't even start til this time next year hell by this time next year we will be finishing up the LVN program

That is very true! I calculated that if I get into TCC next application period I would graduate May 2018 and if I did LVN and then bridged I would still graduate with RN in May 2018.

I tead was that you need to turn in the transcript with your app but then I also read they need to be in with the registrar. Do you know which one it is?

I asked her when I was still gonna apply to adn and she said that if WC transferred all my classes to my current WC transcript then I didn't need to worry about putting the Tcc transcript in there just the WC one but if they didn't transfer everything over then I needed to include that one also but there are some courses that didn't transfer but they don't have anything to do with the nursing program or graduating from WC. I need to clarify with her because they transferred everything that could be transferred so I don't see why they would need a copy of the Tcc one also but I want to make sure.

Ok thank you! I think I am going to include it just in case. I have one from TWU and I was a student at WC a couple of years ago and I just had to reapply so I'm not sure if everything will be submitted in time.

Yea me too can't be too safe

Make sure you get a high school transcript as well. I recommend getting official transcripts (unopened) for all schools just in case. TCC provides official transcripts if you go to the office and request them.

When I first transferred to WC I learned the hard way that when they do a transcript review they go by whatever degree you choose. They do not add all your completed classes, they only add the ones needed for your degree plan. I recommend when you request a transcript review out your degree as a general AA.

Also, make sure you have at least your second Hep B completed or a positive titer. I just noticed thats required for spring applicants.

@ERiding2016 have you seen the point how the point system works at WC for the LVN program yet?

You really have to have a high school transcript even if you have a degree from a college? I am not even sure how I would go about getting mine. Lol

No I asked her about that, as far as the high school one that's already on file with the college from when you applied and had to have them sent to WC. That mostly applies to students coming straight in from high school. I did not know though that part about them not using all your credits that's crazy! The only thing they didn't transfer with mine was a human sexuality course I took because they don't offer one at WC and some classes I retook obviously they only transferred the most recent so that part is fine.

I'm actually lucky enough that I had all three of my hep B vax over the last like six years which she said was fine.

I thought providing a high school transcript was silly too. I don't have a degree just yet but I've been going to school there and almost done with my AA. So I figured they didn't need mine either but thats what she told me to make sure I had. Im 32 years old so I obviously haven't been in high school for a while lol. I would check with them if your unsure.

I am definitely going to email and ask for clarification!! I still need to be accepted into the school and that should be on Monday. I have all of my vaccines completed so that's all good for me. I just need the compass test and my transcript for my application. I'm hoping that ones they accept me they still have all of my info from last time.

@tink

i looked at past allnurses boards and they have accepted as low as a 3 and the point system on the website and I think before the compass I have 5
