Weatherford College LVN Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone! So I have decided in my nursing program pursuit that I am going to go ahead and apply to the weatherford college lvn program and then bridge. Does anyone know what kind of schedules we will have? Trying to get an idea of work schedule vs school schedule. I am also going to take the compass help class to get a feel for it but im wondering if I should go on and try to take I it this week also just to get an idea what its like?? Anywho, if theres anyone else out there that will be applying with me come say hi! Oh also I will be commuting from masfield let me know if I have any close buddies for study groups if we get in!

So I took my exam today and my whole entire math section was math problems! I didn't get an 90+ which was what I was hoping for so I'm going to retake the math portion again. The reading portion was a breeze! Just make sure to read the questions and answers carefully.

I'm hoping to get between the 80-89 at least on the math section but I also have myself enough time to be able to take it again if I don't like my scores thanks for the update!

Good Luck! If you have any questions feel free to let me know :) By the way I didn't get any algebra questions mostly ratio fraction and percentage word problems.

How many points do you think they are looking for this semester and how many applicants do they take for spring? I know it is different then fall since it's only offer at the main campus during spring. I've been reading the other posts today and it sounds like the points they have accepted previously have been super low especially for alternatives.

Yea and I heard they have a lower amount of applicants for spring yea I'm kinda mad because I didn't read well enough when I was looking over the points for the LVN program and thought I was going to get the extra point for A&P one but I'm not because I got a C+ in that class and I'm currently taking A&P two so it won't count :/ meh lol I'm going to just go on and get all my ducks in a row in case I get alt listed because I know I've seen that they may call as late as the day before classes start

Are you taking any classes right now?

Oh bummer, I just saw on the sheet it has to be a "B" or better for the extra point. From the other posts WC have taken almost all the alternatives and super low points so thats promising! I think I am going to go ahead and do everything else as well just in case i get accepted or get alternative. I don't want to wait until the last minute. I find it interesting that not too many people have posted on here for the LVN program. ADN has become so competitive to get into I figured others would do LVN as a backup.

I am currently taking 3 classes at TCC Trinity River. Hist 2, Fed Govt and Kinesiology

I noticed that too that there's not as much buzz about it but hey if that gives me a better chance of getting in I'm all for it lol

Ditto! lol;) I was so disappointed I didnt get in the nursing program at TCC so I am really hoping I get in at WC for LVN.

The testing center said they had 8 appointments today for the compass LVN exam so Im sure they will receive more apps these next two weeks. The ADN applicants got their letters last week so those that didn't get in might apply for lvn.

Yea I had no hope for tcc because its so crazy competitive thats why I made the decision to commute to weatherford

When I turned in my application at tcc the nursing admin gave me hope, my science gpa wasn't very competitive (3.0) but I had a 92% hesi score so i was hoping at least an alternative spot but it didnt work out.

Tink I'm right there with you. I thought I would get an alternate spot cause everyone was saying that the pool was lower for TCC this time but it really wasn't. So I am going to do LVN as a backup and then bridge at TCC. I hope I can get my stuff in on time for this application period. Looking back a lot of people got accepted as an alternate with 4 points and 7 was enough to get in. How was the compass reading and math compared to the Hesi? I hope we all get in!!!!
