Hello everyone! So I have decided in my nursing program pursuit that I am going to go ahead and apply to the weatherford college lvn program and then bridge. Does anyone know what kind of schedules we will have? Trying to get an idea of work schedule vs school schedule. I am also going to take the compass help class to get a feel for it but im wondering if I should go on and try to take I it this week also just to get an idea what its like?? Anywho, if theres anyone else out there that will be applying with me come say hi! Oh also I will be commuting from masfield let me know if I have any close buddies for study groups if we get in!

What's all this I see about a checklist? Do you get the list when you're accepted or are you supposed to have it done before?

Once your accepted theyll give you a checklist. it should be on the website as well. Its just stuff like TB test, physical, CPR cert, background check, make sure you have your MMR blah blah...

from the website:

Once selected for admission to the nursing program, the student must:

Complete a criminal background check and provide clearance from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON).

Obtain a TB screen test or chest x-ray (must be current within one year).

Obtain a urine drug screen.

Have a back/spine examination by a licensed physical therapist.

Submit proof of up-to-date immunizations including Tdap (within the last ten years), MMR, varicella, and influenza.

Submit proof of major medical health insurance.

Provide proof of current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR.

Provide proof of Hepatitis B vaccines (three dose series) or positive Hepatitis B titer.

Vocational nursing students must also complete a physical examination by a MD, DO, or ANP. - See more at: https://www.wc.edu/academics/programs-study/health-science/nursing-programs/vocational-nursing/vn-application-0#sthash.NKqqOtfo.dpuf

Waiting , waiting , waiting. Patience builds character or something right? Lol

I am literally on edge. Just did my fingerprints thursday so hoping the board gets back to me pretty fast!!!

How many of you are wanting to bridge to an RN program after the LVN?

Rn and or possibly Bsn

I want to eventually get my msn. Where are you planning on doing your RN?

I'd like to get a surgical certification eventually.

Im planning on doing a lvn-rn bridge. Not sure which route I want to go. I know Im looking at either UTA or TX Tech for my BSN

Does anyone know how our schedules will be like?

I checked the other old posts and these are copy and pasted from there

Fall 2014- The first semester you will go Monday through Friday, one day midweek will be a short day like 8 to noon but the others will be full days like 8 to 4 and Fridays you will be done around 1.

fall 2015- The first 2 semesters are 8-12 hour Clinicals (depending on your site and your instructor) and when we finally started Clinicals it was 2 days a week- sometimes 3 days in third semester. One day a week was all skills class and the other days was classroom stuff. I wanna say that Friday was our half day, and nothing on the weekends.

you follow the college school schedule so you get a week off in between semesters, holidays off, winter/spring break, etc-- and you will NEED that mental break!!
