Weatherford College Fall 2012 start

Published

Well, I am not sure if someone has started this topic already but I wanted to find others who will be applying for Weatherford's ADN program this application period. I am scheduling my TEAS for next week. I am excited to apply and see how things go. Would love to hear from others who are applying this round as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!!

PS I have been taking my pre reqs at TCC.

Wow that sounds like good news! That means only about 15 people would get rejected, with 40 in and 20 alternates! I feel like I'm waiting to have a baby!! So excited!

Wow, that is good news.

I will call KL because the quote for first semester she gave me was about $2800. I know I can't afford 4 grand so I guess I will just have to wait and see.I am excited regardless.

Hey Christy, could you give me a call. 817 901-4724. I emailed my case study today but I have a big micro exam tomorrow and I may not make lecture tonite for AP. May need your help Thanks

Spoke with KL. 1st semester is $1391 out of district with extra expenses its about $3000. Second semester is $1777 and $1680 with extras. Compared to the "other school" I am in district with it's still cheaper for me.

Let me know if you need more info as she sent me an approximate student cost sheet.

Thanks for the new post Kalt, that is better than the paper they gave us at the time of TEAS testing. I went ahead and hot my FAFSA filled out, just in case. We're one day closer!

A few of the students from last semester bought their books online and paid around $600, so that could definately save some money instead of the more than $1000 at the bookstore. You can pick up things one month at a time also, like your stethescope, I got a litman but there is a store right by the college that has another brand, like the litman light and it was under $40. I think there may be a few ways to cut expenses. I am getting so excited, I hope we find out soon!

Idslees, what info did they give you at the TEAS as far as cost for the 1st semester? If they are actually handing out those numbers on paper at the test site I worry. $1000 difference is big to me. Do you think KL gave me the wrong cost info? Appreciate your help. Just want to be prepared.

Simcr, thanks for the tips. The books seem to be the biggy but with some research we can probably cut that amount down by a lot.

I am excited, you guys!

Kalt, here is what they handed out to me at the orientation for Spring 2012, so that is most current.

Tuition (in district) $923 (out district) $1391

Parking Fee $20

Textbooks $1300

Lab Fee $120

Liability Insurance $20

Testing Fees $131

Total In district $2514

Total out of district $2982

Awesome! Thanks Simcr. That's the info I have too. Have been a little stressed because I only I wont qualify for Pell this year and if going to nursing school I will probably have to cut back on work hours. I will make it work somehow.

Thanks again to all of you for sharing info with me. This site is really helpful.

I told myself I wasn't going to look on here today but here I am. Oh well. Hey everybody I'm excited! If anyone understands, I'm sure it's yall. So it could be any day now! YAY!

Christy, we are all right there with you and excited, don't worry about coming here alot, we can all support each other.

Kalt, what about student loans?

I will probably apply if I get accepted. Haven't really done a lot of research yet. I really don't want to borrow if I can help it. I got rid of debt a few years ago, thank god. I never want to go there again. I am sure there are ways. Spoke with a Nurse Practitioner the other day and she said this RN program is a steal as far as cost and great NCLEX pass rates so I feel confident we will all find our way.

We are getting so close!!!!!!!!!!!!
