Well, I am not sure if someone has started this topic already but I wanted to find others who will be applying for Weatherford's ADN program this application period. I am scheduling my TEAS for next week. I am excited to apply and see how things go. Would love to hear from others who are applying this round as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!!
PS I have been taking my pre reqs at TCC.
I am thinking about maybe taking the phlebotomy class this summer. Has anyone ever takin' it? I don't really wanna go to school all summer (did that last year), but I don't have any medical working experience. Honestly, I kinda feel like I need to prove to my self that I can do this. I'm still unsure of the blood taking thing, I think it won't bother me once I get used to it, I hope! Plus, maybe it would help me get a job, (in at a hospital) before I become a RN.
Idlees, i would go ahead and do your fafsfa and have it sent to WC, that way you are ahead of the game, then there is an online portion you do also for WC. That would be one less thing for you to do, and by the time you here from the college with the FAFSFA acceptance letters should be out.
Christy, my daughter is in the phlebotomy program right now, they just finished the class portion and start clinicals Monday. My daughter was terrified of needles and blood, really! Even at 18 I would have to hold her hand! If she can do this, anyone can. I had to volunteer to have my blood drawn by her since they have so many sticks to pass the class, the class seemed fun and the teachers were cool.
My daughter took phlebotomy because it gives extra points for LVN application, I think 5pts. I don't believe she is looking for a job, it was just an added bonus when applying for the LVN program. It can't be to difficult because she is keeping up with other classes also, she is taking AP2, math, psychology, somthing else, cant remember what.
They continued under the spring thread, they never opened a new thread for fall.

Here's to hoping that there are no delays in getting those letters out!! Don't know how true it is, but a friend that is in the program right now heard that there were only about 75 applicants for the main campus...compared to the 165 when she applied last fall...and she got called off of the alternate list with a 17 just days after letters went out!
