Weatherford College fall 2014 adn applicants

Published

I am applying for WC this Dec/Jan for fall 2014 Rn program. I am going to re-take my teas this month to hopefully improve my score. If I get in I will be driving from Hurst. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a drive.

Have you taken any lit, language, education, or philosophy courses? All those courses are considered a humanites course. I'm tkaing mine Feb 21 if possible lol.. I'm trying to give myself ample time to study. I am hoping my knowledge from the HESI will help me on the TEAS LOL.. I haeve a study guide with all the sections covered on the TEAS but I am nervous that it may not be accurate and the TEAS guide is what I really need. To be on the safe side I ordered it. Math I am pretty strong at now but engish, reading and science I defiantly to focus on. Let me know how your do on yor TEAS when you take it!!

Okay great! I'm taking Lit this semester so hopefully that will help. Don't fret too much over the TEAS yet. When you get your study guide you can see for yourself. Some people do very well on it. Also there are practice tests you can buy through ATI.com. They are expensive but worth it. Taking it on the 21 is great! That way you have time to retake it if needed or if not you can turn all your paperwork in.

I'll keep you posted and you do the same :)

Is anyone applying at other schools? If so where and which programs? At this point I'm desperate and need to get into a good program ASAP.

Okay!! :) I defiantly will. I don't know if you are willing to commute or move but there is a school in Denison I'm applying to called Grayson College and it is based off of the hesi and a point system. I'm also applying to midwestern state that is a BSN program that is based off the the hesi and a point system as well and I'm also applying to TCU.

It is a really good idea to buy the online practice test. There are two versions (A & B) and you are able to take each version you purchase twice. The cost is a little high in my opinion as well but ATI is the same company that created the TEAS so I forked up the cash. The benefits to the online practice test is that it gives you detailed information about the areas where you are weak and where you are not to help you with focused studying. I purchased version A and have taken it only 1 time so far. My scores were pretty much what I would have expected considering I left high school a very long time ago and did not even complete grades 10-12. My plan is to work my way through the entire ATI study guide and take the second practice test online afterwards. :up:

Teas is hard! I just got a chance to look at new point system and I have 34. I am eager to apply, I hope it all works out!

@Meganhealy86

Have you taken the TEAS already? With 34 points you should be fine :)

Yes I took the teas. It's hard. I actually counted wrong, I have 35 with teas

I really hope I get in...is it April yet!?!?!?

That's good. I didn't do very well on my teas and only got 5 points from it. I may re-take it in January.
Did you end up retaking the Teas?

35 points is good! You will get in!
