Weatherford College fall 2014 adn applicants

Published

I am applying for WC this Dec/Jan for fall 2014 Rn program. I am going to re-take my teas this month to hopefully improve my score. If I get in I will be driving from Hurst. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a drive.

This nursing school stuff is frustrating!! So competitive! No wonder people go the private school route. This will be my 2nd time applying for nursing schools.

I just emailed her. I am eager to see what I have with the new system.

Pd82 this is my 2nd time applying too I hope I get in. Naynay driving from keller so we will be in the same boat!!!

I know the new system says there are bonus points for 15+ hours towards your BSN, but Im wondering does that only include the classes listed?? I have nutrition and sociology which are required at some universities but those are not on the WC list.

Does anyone happen to know?

I drove to WC to drop off my application on Wed. It took me 35 min from Hurst. Meganhealy do you know how long it is from keller? I am not sure if you guys know but they are building a brand new health building and it should be ready by the summer KL said. I am excited and hope I get in. I applied for TWU twice and didn't make it. This is my 3rd time. Maybe 3rd time will be a charm:)

I also live in Keller/Roanoke, off alliance freeway. Its about 50 minutes to WC. This will be my second time applying for the ADN program and I will turn in my application mid January after the wintermester course I am taking.

I am an alternate to the WC lvn program and we had orientation on Tuesday. It was intense and they do not sugar coat how demanding nursing school will be!! My goal is RN so I will apply to fall WC ADN along with el centro and mountain view. I am so ready to begin school!!

PD82, wouldn't the wise county campus be closer for you?

I am so ready also. I have been taking pre-reqs for 8 years. Keep wondering if it is ever going to happen.

The wise campus is a little father than weatherford. I will be applying to both and will make the drive to either one lol!

I'm also planning on applying again to WC. I applied for the spring semester with PD82. I think at that time I had 26 points. I hope this new point system helps! I need to retake the TEAS AGAIN… What is everyone's scores on the TEAS? I swear I really hate that test lol. Also are you all just studying the ATI book?

BTW although I don't want to I'm also applying for the LVN program. My sciences will start expiring in 2015 so I have to get in somewhere. Does anyone know what to study for the Compass test that is needed for the LVN program? Is it as bad as the TEAS?

Gosh NO...the compass is a breeze compared to the TEAS. You can use a calculator- enough said, lol. It very basic stuff :-)

What book or website did you study? Also didn't you apply at some other schools? I remember you applied with me during the spring semester and you saying you were trying other places. I will have to apply for the LVN program along with the RN program as long as I do well on the TEAS. In the spring I was right on the line to not be picked. I hope and pray I do better on the TEAS and get in.
