Weatherford College fall 2014 adn applicants

Published

I am applying for WC this Dec/Jan for fall 2014 Rn program. I am going to re-take my teas this month to hopefully improve my score. If I get in I will be driving from Hurst. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a drive.

I honestly don't remember how many points I had, but I am doing the LVN to RN transition program. We have already received our letters, and I am an alternate :( Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I am pretty sure you only have to have proof of the first two because at time of application. The first 1 was due and the second one is suppose to be completed 1 month after the 1st one. Hep A is not required but strongly recommended. At least my physician did since we are going into a health related field.

JJ1402 - being an alternate is NOT a bad thing. The history (as seen in the previous years applicants posts on all nurses.com) shows many alternates get called in for a spot. Keep your head up! When did you get your letter? I suddenly feel the need to go camp out next to my mailbox... :nailbiting:

ADN program letters cant go out until at least next week. You have until march 28th to submit your proof of residency for the residency points if you are a resident of parker, jack, hood, palo pinto, wise counties. It wasn't included on the list of required documents (I'm assuming because this is the first time these points were offered). I got an email requesting the document yesterday and submitted mine this morning :D

so no need to camp out until next week :D

Thanks, Bronze1! I've heard of alternates being called, so I'm trying not to give up hope just yet!

I got my letter a couple of weeks ago, but the application period is different for the bridge program. Our deadline for applications was January 30th I believe. Also, double check about the Hep B injections because I just talked with KL and she said you have to have all 3 by the first day of class. If you start from the begining it takes at least 6 months for the entire series, so if you haven't started the series yet I would suggest doing it ASAP. The transition class starts June 2, and I applied right before the deadline. Thankfully, I've already had my Hep B shots or there would have not been enough time to complete the series.

Ugh waiting waiting waiting

has anyone spoke to KL about points average for this round?

I'm so anxious!! I haven't heard from anyone directly about points average! I guess I'm going to go ahead and see about the Next Hep A shot. I feel like the closer the 7 week mark gets, the slower time goes! so so so anxious!!

That makes two of us!

If they are verifying residency points this week then we could be waiting another couple of weeks till we hear anything. Eekk!!

I'm confused...are we suppose to start our injections now, before we know if we are in or not? I figured we got a checklist (if we are accepted) that explained everything we needed. Is this not correct? I submitted my Hep B titer. I worked in an ICU for 4 years so I had to get all the doses of Hep B then. I possibly received Hep A also but I'm not sure and would need to verify.

From what I understand, the Hep A is recommended but not required. I had the first one 4 years back when I was looking into the NCTC LVN program, but ended up not finishing the application process at the time, that's the only reason I had the first dose. I just may go ahead and finish it up.

So.....anyone besides me skip to the mailbox ever so slightly hopeful that maybe.....just maybe there might be a magical acceptance letter in there today.....?!?!?! I think I may need to self medicate with chocolate and red wine until I know......the anticipation is crazy, lol! Of course, no letter, just credit card bills! I think I'll go eat my feelings now....

I've been checking my mail like a crazy person since last week.
