Weatherford College fall 2014 adn applicants

Published

I am applying for WC this Dec/Jan for fall 2014 Rn program. I am going to re-take my teas this month to hopefully improve my score. If I get in I will be driving from Hurst. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a drive.

I finally took my TEAS again today and passed! Woo-hoo! :woot: I ended up with a 90.5 in Reading, 73.3 in Math, 66.7 in Science. & an 80 in English & Language. My AITS was 77.3. I will go Thursday to turn in my stuff to KL and report back on what the minimums appear to be to her on that day. I think this puts me at 41 points total. I feel completely worn out. Thank God it done! :dead:

YAY!!! So happy for you!!! Which campus are you applying too? You should get in regardless! I'm still nervous. It looks like I'm tied with most or a point below. Eeek!! :nailbiting:

She said 45 for main campus and 25 for Wise County.

Oh my gosh!! Only 25 spots at Wise County? I'm so nervous!! Aaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!

I turned my application in today and she pretty much told me welcome to class - no guarantees of course. She also said that very, very few applications have come across her desk with points over 40 and reiterated the fact that the alternates frequently get called in as well. She also reminded me that due to spring break, it will be 7 weeks from tomorrow before letters go out. Who else has a countdown going? Lol

Yay Alillybug!! :0) 7 loooooong and tedious weeks, I just know I'm going to relay my feelings and gain 5-10lbs, lol!!

Yay. That makes me so excited to hear very few apps are over 40 points. I'm glad the app period is over now and we can start the count down. Just going to focus on work and kids and maybe the time will go by fast.

YAY alillybug!!!!! I hope this is good news for us with mid to high 30's Eeeekkkk! Which campus are you applying for?

That is good news for mid to upper 30s because that is where several lay. I put Wise County as my first choice.

Thanks to everyone's comments and feedback to my previous comment, I really appreciate it. For now, I'm going to try to stop thinking "what if I don't get in" and focus on the positive... the moment of negativity has passed.

After talking to several members of the nursing faculty and hearing back from Karen (again), I'm feeling better about what few points I do have. In fact, I learned that at WCWC, for example, because it's a new campus and there was a low number of applicants, they accepted ALL of their alternates. That's promising, right?

Plus, I believe, people posting on this board are already WAY ahead of the curve and the majority of students applying will probably neither be on the same level by way of points nor have the same passion and drive as many of our fellow posters.

Let the waiting game begin... Good luck to everyone!! I'm sure good news awaits in April!!!

My husband said the same thing. A lot of people that applied probably dont have as many points. The people posting on here are the ones who are passionate about it. I hope we all get in!

Where will you be driving from?

All of these posts makes me feel better that I am not the only one dealing with the stressful process!! I'm extremely nervous that my measly 31 points will not make the cut, but all we can do is see GOOD LUCK everyone!

Arrow333, MH0510 and Nell09 no matter what your points are or what happens never give up on your dream! If nursing is your passion then keep going after it no matter what. I applied for the last application period and didn't make it by one point. I'm a firm believer that sometimes things happen because they are just not the right time. No matter what the outcome keep trying!

Good luck to all of you!! Hopefully we'll all be in class together!
