Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

Specializes in Ortho.

Thankfully, there is no interview process for the ADN program.

Lucky you!! I'm jealous!

Ugh I can't imagine having to have an interview for the adn program.... im really glad that they don't.

Right!?! Now I'm going to be going over everything in my head, repeatedly. Ugh.

@TmmyCarson - I work as an admissions specialist at a hospital at the moment! Was kind of just a foot in the door for the future cause I knew what I wanted to ultimately do with school and career wise, it's just getting there that's the difficult part lol!

I took a chem class with two cook NICU nurses that graduated from WC. They were going back for their BSN.

Just got accepted to TCC!!!

I was just about to let yall know that Tcc applicants have been finding out today lol

That's awsome to hear about the nicu nurses. I want to work at the cooks nicu or the harris nicu.

I tried to get in with THR for admissions, not sure why I could not get an interview though. I have applied several times. lol now , hopefully we can find out and get this monkey off our backs!

They were 2-3 years removed so Cooks policy may have changed (although for some time now hospitals have noted that they prefer BSN to ADN), but still. I wonder if @TLiz5 has any idea where new graduates have been getting hired and in what capacity.

That time I was at cooks, one of the nephrology nurses told me that their policy was 70% of the nurses should bsn. So I'm aware that if I want to work there, I will most certainly have to obtain my bsn. Hopefully j can get it done pretty quickly after I finish here at weatherford! As long as things go right next week... my husband kept asking me why i was mad lol I guess I wasn't talking as much as usual because I'm starting to really really stress about these letters..

I know weatherford regional will hire new grad ADNs, and I know that JPS has a Nurse extern program for ADNs, I'm fairly certain most of the smaller hospitals do (Wise regional, palo pinto general, the LTC hospital in granbury...I can't remember the name of that one), I think Texas health hires SOME but prefers to hire BSN...one of those get your foot in the door before you graduate situations from what I've heard. I haven't really looked into some of the others in DFW like Plaza and Kindred...another possibility is Urgent cares or these stand alone ERs.....I know that some of them hire ADNs but I couldn't tell you specifics

The only one that I have heard for sure ONLY hires BSN is Baylor....and I have heard it's pretty hard to get into Cooks with an ADN....but not sure it's IMPOSSIBLE....
