We got into the CLC Nursing program...now what

Published

OK, we got in, but now what? I am a detail orientated person and I want info! :lol2: When can I start picking up things I need? What are those items?

I have really lost it! I went from thinking about getting in to wondering what to do/what to read/what to buy before class starts.

And how big of a backpack do we REALLY need? :uhoh3:

Anybody out there from CLC have any advice? Help me before my family moves out of the house permanently (wait...maybe that would be a good thing:devil:)!

Remember your $30 for drug screening everybody.

Yep... took the money out for that yesterday at work!!! I am ALLLLL set!!!

Heather, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine your pain, and I completely admire your dedication to his memory. I am sure you will continue to gain inspiration from Ryan and the rest of your family as you take this journey to becoming a nurse.

i'm not too worried about the books yet..i know we'll find out what we need on monday. i'm worried about all the extra supplies..as i read what some of you have already put together i realize that i will stick out like a sore thumb...i decided to go minimal for now because of budget constraints and because i am so cheap that buying the palm t/x was a big deal for me...still haven't figured the thing out yet:smackingf i even decided to try to use my son's rolling backpack that he used 1 time...if it works that's great, otherwise i'll use it until it doesn't work. i think on monday i will have a better idea of what i need and what i really can do without...i hope:no:

you'd be surprised at how many people in my class spent $ on stuff that they didn't use this past semester. plus in clinical, you don't really have a secured place to do your module work and i wouldn't put anything down and walk away. you'll be so busy with your patient you'll never use any of the gadgets or folders.

Kelly - sorry to hear about the loss of the baby. Things happen for a reason, as you said, maybe it's for the best.

I paid my $30 by check the other day while I was there. It's at the cashier - I guess they take all forms of payment.

Oh, that's right - we have to do it there first...wonder what time they open in the morning??? If not, maybe at lunch...wish I had thought about that and just stopped in and paid it!!! Good thinking Vicki!

Ummmm...we are still not used to the "screeching" noises that girls seem to make, but she is trying hard to help out and get along with everyone

LOL! Well, I'm more used to the girlie "screeching" noises. Now when my nephews are around all I hear is belching and farting!!! I guess they all make noise, huh? ;-)

wait...belching and farting aren't normal everyday things?? lol...with 3 boys it seems that's all I hear..even the dog gets in on it..lol

:lol2::lol2::lol2:

The screeching noises are an every day occurance with a 2 year old girl in my house!!! But yes, I remember my teenager days all too well and can remember being one of those screeching girls!!! You'll get used to it!

okay, guys...i'm a little worried, now...

tomorrow is orientation day. i couldn't be happier. however, all day today (and the weekend besides) i've had a major dose of my 8th grader -completing his science fair tri-fold board! my head aches so much - we through 2 bottles of rubber cement! thank goodness i can leave the windows open on such a nice day...

i'm concerned about the drug screening - do you think rubber cement will show up as an inhalant? my head is pounding so much right now (it just dawned on me its from the all day use of the stuff!). what do you think?

this goes into my second concern: my 8th grader doing it on his own - y'know getting up and out of the house. eek!

i'll try to catch up with you guys at the coffee cart...it take about an hour to get to clc from where i live. see you all then!

~boni~

Boni- I think you should be ok. I don't know for sure, but I will keep my fingers crossed!! See you all tomorrow!! I will be the one with the really big coffee....:smilecoffeecup:
