wcccd spring 09

Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for everyone who is waiting on an acceptance letter from wcccd. The wait is really getting to me and I need to know I'm not the only impatient one!

Your by far not the only one who is impatiently waitng. This is absolutely killing me. Well someone just posted that they will be mailling letters by the end of next week. They still don't know the GPA cutoff though. I think they do but it's probably much lower than it was for Fall 08 admission. Good Luck to you. I'm just praying the GPA cutoff is not a 3.7 again.

it better not be 3.7. but i doubt it is that high since they inforced the transfer policy. it's getting so close and i know we are all anxious. i can't believe just two months ago i was typing my essay and now practically 2 more weeks until we know something. i'm just so scared right now.

I too am scared. Scared of how difficult the nursing program will be, scared of not getting in and not knowing what excatly it is I will do next. Next week will kill me and if I don't get a letter it will kill me more. At least I will be off on the weekend so I will be able to watch the mail like crazy. I know this summer they received letters on Saturday. My biggest concern is some will get there letters on Saturday and mines will come on Monday it always seems to work out like that for me. That will suck for me. I know this summer I was like all the people who got in or were alternates received letters on the same day and those who didin't get letters didn't get in. Last semester just still has me discouraged! I will hate the come on allnurses and someone has got their letter and I didn't. I'm hoping for the best and my instincts are telling me Hippie!

hey i was just curious, was it your gpa alone that didn't get u n? because didn't u apply when a lot of transfer students applied? when i applied in 2007 the gpa cutoff was 3.4, but i was wondering why the cutoff back then was 3.4 but for this past semester when u didn't get n, it was 3.7, i mean there were transfer students back then too. but anyhow i do believe u will get accepted and so will a lot of us who have been attending wcccd along with in-district and the gpa will be much lower. sorry if this seemed confusing but was just wondering if u had 2 do something diff. or just reapply.

Hey Lunden ,yes my GPA was what didn't get me in. I had everything else in the application packet completed. I applies in April for this fall. I heard that we received alot of students from Wayne State University and since this was the last semester before you would have had to completed 12 credit hours with WCCCD that made it very competitive. I know it was a 3.4 in Fall 2007, because my friend got accepted that semester. 3.7 was the first time WCCCD had a cutoff that high. I didn't do anything different I just reapplied, although I am retaking Psychology now for an A just in case. It will help boost my GPA.

Hi everyone,

I'm an alternate for the Spring of 09, and I'm still waiting for my letter too. They say even though I am in for sure, I will still get a letter.

I wanted to wish everyone good luck.:nuke:

GOOD LUCK!!! and CONGRATS!!! just wondering though, how did you find out you are an alternate w/o a letter first?

Sorry, I didn't explain well enough, lack of sleep, I guess:yawn:

I applied for Fall 08, and was an alternate for that, but because they didn't have an opening, I was bumped to the Spring of 09. So, if you get a semi-happy letter stating that you are an alternate, not to worry, this means you are in the next time around for sure.

It was a real bummer, because my GPA was a 3.61, so I thought I was in the clear, but far from it. The lowest was 3.7. I would have never dreamed it would be that high.

I believe that there is a reaons for everything, and I'm sure there is a good reason I had to wait.

Again, good luck to all. :wink2:

well i sure hope 2 know u this spring. we heard letters went out 2day. it's been a long wait 4 u, so def. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hi everyone, This wait is nuts this time. I wondering what the GPA cutoff is there not saying when you call the nursing office. I assuming it must be lower than what it was for Fall 08, when I called to find out what it was for fall they had no problem saying a 3.7. Well tomoprrow is Veteran's day so basicallly that's just another delay in the waiting. I guess we'll know something by wednesday or Thursday. I'm done calling the Nursing office because when you call there's always a different story. Good Luck too all!

feel the same way sillyrabbit, this wait is something crazy. i was at work today trying not 2 think about it, but every thought is there like "oh my God" please let it b this week we all get "happy letters"

Well we have one or two more days to get through before we hear something if they actually mailed letters today. This wait and semester is driving me crazy! I am just praying that all woks out well. If things don't work out just wondering what everyone else is planning to do. I was accepted into WSU (not the nursing program). If things don't work out as I have planned I think I am going to transfer to WSU and start working on my BSN. This was my second time applying so I just don't want to be set back any further. Although I feel my chances are very good I had to have a step two this time. I already have my Associates' of Science so there is nothing left for me to take @ WCCCD. Good Luck to all!
