Hello everyone,
I'm new to all-nurses and was wondering if there were any spring 2014 hopefuls? I'll be applying to the program in September and struggling to figure out if I want to retake a class I got a B in to help my chances of getting in on the first try. I'm looking at a 3.44 without retaking this class...
Hi everyone :) I am a nursing student at WCCCD and I too was worried about getting in the program at one point. And it's funny once I got in, I talked to so many people about their GPA and TEAS scores and believe it or not almost everything you hear from people that aren't in the program isn't so accurate.....I talked to a person who got in with a 3.2 gpa. I retook a class and wasted my money because of rumors. At one point WCCCD was VERY competitive but it's not somuch anymore. My advice to you (because I would bet money on the fact you are in) is read read read. Study ahead of time because a lot of people fail the first semester. The first two weeks are INSANE.

Hello everyone, I am also a current nursing student 2nd year, right now enrollment is down for wc3, due to accreditation reasons. However, do not make any mistakes, if you can manage to make it through this program you will have no problems finding employment. Wayne county's program is accelerated, they put you through endless nights of studying, if you are not ready to commit yourself 100% due not apply for their program. With that being said, 73 points was the cut off for fall 2013 That's nothing, 3.15 was the last G.P.A taken, (that person had a high teas score though). Study ahead, read like your life is depended on it, two years and your done. IT is going to go very fast, I started in the fall of 2012 and I am done in may. For all of you who are worried about getting in stop it, your are in, try and get the books that are assigned, rent them if you cant afford it right but it will benefit you in a long run. And at orientation find someone or a group of people who live by you, cause you will need to form a study group, me and a few of my buddies meet 2 days a week at starbucks near all of our homes. We also car pool to different clinical and lecture locations, you do what you have to in order make it through this program. You guys don't need good luck anymore, your in, put youre life on hold for two years and you will be rolling in the doe soon. Grad nurses a henry Ford are getting hired left and right for this school, starting at 25.50 per hour plus 1.50 midnights and another 1.00 on the weekends. Come on, that's $28 fresh out of nursing school, that has been my motivation and I'm sticking to it. See you guys soon.
Wen902 thanks for making that correction, because it is important that we stay factual and supported on this site, and not spread unsubstantiated rumors. We all, those of us who have applied, are more than likely, in a stress mode of being very inquisitive about what is going to happen to us in getting into the program. However, I make this comment, because every since August 19, 2013 until Oct 3, 2013 , you have presented questions from rumors, that you claimed you heard, yet posed them as questions, which actually leads to rumors. Yet if they were true rumors...what is the relevance, I ask,...well so what...don't attend WCCCD. I have been following this site of comments since I applied in May 2013, and I have never felt a need to comment until your last comment Oct 3, 2013. Because no matter how unsubstantiated your comments have been, that comment hit home. If your comment had been true...that would mess with my time table of putting my life on a very different schedule. The very next morning, Oct 4, 2013, I called WCCCD nursing office, for the first time, to verify and clarify your information that you put on this site. I not only talked to the Dean, but 2 staff members, who all stated unequivalently that date had not been moved again, and everyone for Spring 2014 hopefuls would hear within 2-3 week, at the latest 4weeks. And by the way, they apologized sincerely for people who feels that they need to put out rumors to show that they are in the know. All I am saying to you and anyone else who choose to put information on this site, be supportive, be factural (no hear say), don't try to impress, be a team player, and by all means keep us informed...because this is my life's goal and I don't need any additional stress. I would also like to Thank SmackerNurse, Darien, NayNayRN2b, and Trish_pkh...for keeping it REAL!
Hi all! I applied for the program back in June and now that its getting close to the time we find out if we are in or out im getting super nervous. I feel that no matter how supportive my friends and family are trying to be, they just don't get it. Does anyone else feel that way? My brother just started the program this fall and im starting to feel the pressure of receiving a letter myself. Im not sure what points I have for my GPA I have heard so many different things. Also was the application dates pushed back to October 3rd!? Good luck to you all :)

It can be found, you have to really search for it. I've found it before, looked for it later and was unable to find it.
