Wcccd 2014 hopeful

Hello everyone,

I'm new to all-nurses and was wondering if there were any spring 2014 hopefuls? I'll be applying to the program in September and struggling to figure out if I want to retake a class I got a B in to help my chances of getting in on the first try. I'm looking at a 3.44 without retaking this class...

Hello, I am applying for Spring 2014 also. Im just waiting on WCCCD to send my letter of advanced standing.

I would consider how many points you anticipate having according their 100 point ranking system and based your decision on that. I don't remember all the points but I dont remember the exact points for theTEAS test & GPA

60 points for GPA of 3.8-4.0

10 points for all pre-reqs at WCCCD

5 points for having the two co-reqs complete

2.5 medical lic (CNA, LPN, etc)

2.5 medical experience

I just applied to my BSN program for spring 2014. I had to retake everything with a C and below to raise my GPA. I applied with a 3.47.

From another board:

Teas points-

math section

10 points for 90-100

8 points for 80-89

6 points for 70-79

4 points for 60-69

2.5 points for 50-59

Then they add the same amount of points for the reading part except of course for the 50 percentage range as you must score a 60 or up on reading

10 points for all classes taken at wcccd

7.5 for 75% taken at wcccd

5 for 50% taken at wcccd

5 points for health care experience

2.5 points for having a license (cpr license counts too)

5 points for having co-req's done

2.5 for having half co-reqs done

I'll have 87 points when applying for Spring '14 but no medical experience. Do you guys think I should take a CNA class to get the extra points?

I think you are fine without taking the CNA class. However, it would look good on your resume and make it easier to find a job if you have experience as a Nurse Aide

Woohoo, good luck everyone! I am applying for Fall 2014. When do you find out if you were accepted for Spring 2014? I am sure the wait is tough.

The application deadline is Septer 3rd so probably not too long after since they pushed the deadline up already from June.

6 to 8 weeks I believe they said was the wait after the deadline. So mid October to early November we will find out

I just applied st the july application meeting and their was less than 20 people there i hope that is good

does anyone know how many points you get for having a GPa below 3.8
