WCCCD Fall 2008 Waiting!

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

I figure we might as well go ahead and start a thread for those of us who are waiting for our letters to come....

I was looking through back postings and in 2006 letters were received July 13th and in 2007 letters were received June 26th...Boy is that a broad range of time to determine when letters will come....I think they do it on purpose to try to drive us all mad LOL

So, how is everyone holding up during this waiting process. I think the unknown is the worst thing possible. I am trying to stay positive and relaxed about this whole process, but it is becoming more difficult as the time draws nearer...

How are all of you coping with the stress of waiting? I've been doing a lot of graphic designing lately and delving myself deeply into my studies. I found the more involved I am with school, the faster the time goes by because of deadlines and such...(midterm is coming up next week) Can you believe this semester is almost half way over with?

Anyway, let's keep each other company while we all wait for the GOOD news! ;)

I definitely will let you know what happens at the meeting asap.. I have all documentation of my trying to go through hoops for this paper too.. I have numerous phone records showing me calling the nursing program, registrars office, mailings back and forth dated by the post office and more so I hope something can and will be done about this. I think I have more than enough proof that I did what I was suppose to do and that this was THEIR mistake.. We shall see how it goes and I will let you know whats up as soon as I know whats up...:banghead:

:angryfireUGGGHHHH!!!! So ****** at disorganized WCCCD Nursing Office..

Anyone else have a similar situation with them? If so, was Mrs. Norris of any help at all? Any added advice or opinions on whether this meeting with her will help at all.. I'm going no matter what, but am curious as to how much you think this will help, if at all....The student counselor told me I should at minimum demand I be put on the waiting list, but to be honest I doubt anyone is going to go through all the hassle just to decline their position...

Hi Meme - so sorry! What a great gpa - I am sure that letter was disappointing, to say the least. I don't have any experience like this but the meeting certainly can't hurt - you don't have anything to lose at this point, right?

My advice? Stay calm - request - don't demand ;). No blame - stay positive.

Be careful what you post online - you never know who is reading this...

Make a list of points you want to make - take it with you - read it to Mrs. Norris. Otherwise, you'll forget to say the things you want to say or point out. Let someone (impartial) read it over first and edit as necessary.

Ask what, if anything, can you do to be admitted this fall.

Take a friend so you don't get yourself all worked up on the ride over.

If its too late, be sure to ask about re-using your current app materials for the January start.

Good luck. And, go hit a punching bag about a hundred times to get all of the frustration out. Or, scream as loud as you can. Seriously. It helps.

You are right.. I don't intend to demand anything because I know it will hurt me more than help me in this situation...I was just meaning to state what student services told me to do...I'm going to go in there with as hopeful and positive an attitude as I possibly can. I'm not angry with Mrs. Norris...it isn't she who told me that the paperwork I had was what was needed... I'm angry that the school is as disorganized as they are and angry at the situation...I didn't work this hard to be shut down when I did what I was suppose to do.

You gave extremely good tips and pointers that I WILL take into action and I appreciate your help.. The more I talk about it and recieve advice, the more I am calming down a bit, but until the meeting with Mrs. N is done I think I will be a little on edge.. I pray that something can be done to remedy this situation but if it can't..well then it can't but I'll do all I can in the meantime.

WONDERFUL advice Do-over!!!! :yeah: You are absolutely right in everything you said...hopefully everything will work out for meme because that is just an awful thing to have happen. I would have been devastated although I had prepared myself for the worse and when the best happen I was so overjoyed I began to cry.
