Wcccd 2014 fall nursing hopefuls

U.S.A. Michigan

Hi! Everyone, i'm new to the blogging stuff and its my first time writing messages

but i'm also applying for the WCCCD nursing program this month for the fall 2014 semester and i'm super excited!!

i did very well on the Hesi exam, finished all my pre-req at wcccd, have health care experience and several certifications. i cant wait to apply, i wish everyone good luck on being accepted.....i'll keep everyone posted on my journey!!

We will all get in!!:)

I'm curious to see that other people have too! So we can see our chances of getting accepted.

I just spoke to the lady in the nursing office she said they extended the applications date for the fall 2014 class until may 9th!!!!!!!

The lady told me that they will notify the people who were accepted all at once. The typical wait is 60 days from the last application day. But because they extended it so late they will probably notify people sooner more like 30 to 45 days instead of 60!!!!!

I am very curious as to why they extended and if they will even get enough applicants. I have applied for fall as well

Me too! I was waiting for the waiting 6-8 weeks to be over, now we have to wait even longer!!

Seriously an even longer wait?! I'm ready to find out now! It's not fair to the people that applied on time we should be able to find out sooner! The wait is killing me!!

Hi everyone!!!

can anyone tell me any information or the Hesi A2 exam like the math, A&P or the reading portion or any study tips Please and do you get the results right away

The math was not hard but for me I had to relearn everything the fractions, dividing with decimal the fractions was adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and borrowing from the whole number, ratio and proportions. I used the hesi book from the bookstore it helped a lot. I even went to a tutor downstairs in the welcome center, it helped some what but they way he thought didn't work for me, so I just tought myself. I downloaded apps on my phone for the science and math, went on YouTube to see the teachers work the problem out and Printed free worksheet for the problems I felt like I needed more exposure too..

The science was easy for me because I've been take a science class every semester for almost two years but I primarily studied the material that was in the hesi book and I did good on that section.

P.s.good luck on your test!!! Just study and you'll be just fine.

I am having a really hard time with this. I do not understand why they keep changing the date, so I called the nursing office AGAIN. I was told it was an administrative decision. She was not able to give me an exact reason. Seeing that the semester ends and grades are due on May 5, we now have a whole other semester of students to compete with. This class has the potential (if they are on top of things) to get their transcripts and other paperwork done in time to apply. I do not find that to be right. We have all applied on time and followed the rules and now we have even more competition.

I have no idea where I stand in ranking. I think that I have done pretty well, but do not know anyone else that is applying that I can compare with. So...I am going to put out there my scores and maybe some will do the same. This way we can get an idea of what we are up against.

I got 92 average on hesi. I have a 3.82 GPA. I have completed 4 pre-reqs at WCCCD. I have my co-reqs done. I do NOT have any license or experience.

I think that was it. Please be honest if you put your scores out. We are all trying to calm our nerves. I myself have put my life on hold waiting for an answer.

Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Yea you have good point. My friend said that a teacher that teaches some of the nursing classes at wccc came to her class and had like an question and answer session , she basically said that it could be many reason why they keep pushing it back but she said that it could be that the quality of applicants is not good enough or there application is not complete. I also heard that they prefer people with experience that is already in the medical field. So you still have time to get some medical experience the cna course I took was 2 weeks long and was $600. But I just hope my scores is good enough to get in I got all the extra points so now we wait..........
