Wayne State University, DET Waiting for Response

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hello, I am applying to Wayne State University College of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan for fall 2010. I have completed all of my requirements to be considered for an interview/ admissions (my application is complete). How long will it take to hear a response from WSU CoN regarding an interview and or acceptance notice?

Does anyone know how much is this "" is? My friends attended other Nursing schools and they were covered thru their schools, so no one was able to tell me the estimate.

Specializes in Med-Surg/Trauma.
Does anyone know how much is this "Malpractice Insurance" is? My friends attended other Nursing schools and they were covered thru their schools, so no one was able to tell me the estimate.

You can purchase it through NSO. That is the recommended company and it's about 30 bucks for student for the year so not too horribly expensive.

Wow,,,,,what a journey:yeah:,,,it has been about two years since I last posted in this site,,,,,But I can proudly say that I finally got accepted to the nursing program,,,,THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,I just want to tell everyone who got in "CONGRATULATIONS", good luck, and I an looking forward to working with all of you. And I would also like to say to all those who did not get in ,,,NEVER GIVE UP,,,,if this is the career you really want,, dont give up,,,your day will come!!! Believe it or not,, I first applied in 2008,,,and unfortunatly, that was the year that admissions were cut in half,,,,and obviusly i didnt get in,,,, I tried to focus on something else ,,, but I knew that the only thing for me was nursing,,,,and with determination and patience ,,,,I finally did it.:redbeathe

Everything happens for a reason I guess!!!! I feel more confident now than I did when I first applied,,,, I think my past experiences, has helped me become confident in reaching my goal....Again congrats to all who got in ,,,and good luck to everyone:D

Congratulations Hope! By the sound of your journey you have worked very hard and deserve to be so proud for your perserverence. It sounds like you're in the CD2 program??? If so, I look foward to meeting you at orientation. I also think it's so great that you shared your story. This will be a support and motivation to others.

Thank you kitcatwoman,,, and actually I got in the Traditonal Program,,, after completing my prereq's and getting my associate degree,,, it became a little harder for me to go back to school full time,,, cuz my babies were needing more attention from me,,plus I couldn't get myself to do something else, cuz i was so in love with nursing. I wanted to do something in the medical field,,,to gain experience and stay close to nursing, while I was waiting to be accepted to a program. Thats when I decided to get my Medical assistant degree,,, pretty soon I started to work at a doctors office. I kept applying to a whole bunch of other schools,,,and they all had the same reason,,, too many applicants ,,others were more qualified,,,etc. But anyway,,,,,yaaaahhhhh,, I am very thankful,,,and I am looking forward to thisnew journey. :redpinkhe

I got my package from the CON today. Did anyone else get theirs? Does anyone know what the student package number is for the criminal background check?

I got mine too! No idea what the number is....I'm thinking of calling or sending an email to the background company.

Oh and I think I'm just going to keep my CPR class that I have already....it's closer and I have the sitter all figured out, but thanks for the offer! And I will see you and all of our other classmates on July 14th!

I sent an e-mail to them and hopefully will hear back from them tomorrow. I look foward to meeting you too!

BTW, to anyone who needs their immunization record- try your pediatrician if they don't have them then call your primary school. My pediatrician suggested it and now I don't need to pay for a lot of titers to be drawn.

Well I was just admitted to the CD2 program as I was first on the alternate list! Look forward to meeting you all next week! :D

Congratulations wsugolfer! You must be very excited! :yeah: See you next week!

I got a call from my hubby saying my package is there. I won't be able to see it until tonight. :yeah:

FYI - I also heard that the State Health Dept can provide you with a copy of your inmunization records. They have all that on file.
