Hi Everyone! I attend Wayne County Community College District. I was wondering if anyone new anything about WCCCD's nursing program. Do they have a waiting list? If so, how long is the waiting list. Any info given will be helpful. Thanks!
Does anyone know what WCCCD cut-off date is for applying for the nursing program for next fall. I am currently at MCC and am thinking about using WCCCD as my backup plan. I know that the next time you can take the NET exam is not until Feb. so I am assuming the cutoff would be sometime around then. If you have any info, it would be helpful. Also if anyone has a contact person to talk to, the people I have talked to on the phone have not been very helpful.
Thanks:nurse:

I have a question, I read some where back on like page 7, someone said that BIO 155 isnt a pre req, or co-req for the nursing program?? Im kinda confused I thought it was a PRE REQ for an. 1 and 2 and micro... am I wrong??
Bio 155 is not a prereq or a coreq for the nursing program. But it is a Prereq for A&P and for Micro. The grade you get for bio 155 will not be factored in your gpa for the nursing program. Just if you had to take a remedial english class before taking Eng 110 (i think that's eng 119 now), that grade for the remedial class would not be factored in you gpa for the nursing program. The only grades they look at are those 5 Pre-req and whatever co-req that you may have completed.
I hope that this helps,
Virginia :blushkiss
I just heard and verified it that WCCCD that Michigan Board of Nursing may be revoking the accredidation of WCCCD apparently there are alot of issues. I verifed with the State Board that it is under review. Any students that are in the program without a completion within the year will not be eligible to sit for the RN exam. If this happens be careful. I am not going into details, since some is sketchy. All that is certain is it being considered. Just a heads up, and do you research. Good luck to all!

i was surprised about the uniforms too. they have great prices on some stuff but then are on the higher end for other things. be weary of buying anything from the school bookstore though. a friend of mine bought her clip board and pen light from there, the clipboard didnt work and the pen light worked for one day. they gave her a very hard time about returning it but eventually gave in saying they would not do it again. they have a no return policy on electronics.
(edit name per moderator) is labeled the toughest instructor at wcccd for nursing from what i have heard, however, i had her and let me just say that she is the nicest, most compassionate person i have met so far, besides (edit name per moderator) that is. (edit name per moderator) is tough, but she is also fair, helpful and if you are willing to put the effort she will do the same for you. i remember her spending every lunch break with one lady in our class, tutoring her in medical math. most instructors wouldnt do that.
i had (edit name per moderator) for assessment and we didnt even have to count apical pulses. in (edit name per moderator) assessment class they had to do that for check out. her students knew their stuff when they left her class, to where the rest of us were like omg we know nothing compared to them. add pressure to the already stressful semester we all started cramming to know assessment because we all had (edit name per moderator) for clinical.
you will really like her. just keep up on your reading, that is all i can say. oh and use the sample test questions from the cd and website that go with your book. those nclex style questions really help when taking (edit name per moderator) test. study your vocabulary words as well. other than that, just have fun!
i know you are class right now, so good luck and i hope it all goes great for you!
