Watts School of Nursing Study Tips?

Published

I'm starting my pre-req's for Watts in January 2016, and I was wondering what I should be studying before I start?

Are there any special A&P books or things that I need to get to study. I know that's going to be one of the hardest courses and I want to make sure that I'm prepared!

Any study or preparation tips would be greatly appreciated! :]

I got the Barron's EZ Anatomy and Physiology. It helped a lot; I ended up getting a 98 in the course. All the courses are pretty easy, but I did hear that my classmates had difficulty with the sociology course.

I just got my letter last week that I will be starting pre-req's in January as well! I'd love to hear any pointers and advice you all have! And Brittyykittyy, feel free to PM me if you want to meet for coffee or something before we start since we will be classmates!

BrittyyKittyy and SarahLuihn,

Can't wait to meet you two in January!

Sorry guys--I'm just seeing these. I didn't get the emails for some reason.

I can't wait to meet you guys! :]

Hi All,

I'm starting pre-reqs at Watts in 1/2016 as well. I found a free online A&P course through the public library! I'm hoping this will give me a lead. Looking forward to meeting fellow cohorts!

What is the A&P online course, if you don't mind?

That's the one course I'm super nervous about!

BrittyyKittyy,

For Durham Co residents w/ a library card, you can access the online classes (aka Gale Courses) via the link below. You will be asked to sign up (email, password, & library card # req'd). Let me know if this helps! Classes start Nov 11 2015 so if interested check it out ASAP.

What classes did everyone choose?

So excited for you! Congrats. A&P wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. I got an A in the class and I would not consider myself a great student. You can get the book early and start reading it but really it isn't necessary. The hardest part of the pre-req's was writing papers for the other classes.
