Hi everyone! Im wondering if anyone else here was accepted in to Washington State Universitys DNP-FNP program starting this fall 2024? Looking to maybe connect with others to share our experience with the onboarding process!

Let me know if you'd like to connect outside of all nurses!
I agree. It would be nice to go to campus more often in some ways, but working is definitely a big part. I tried to send you a message but it didn't let me, let me know if you can or what would be easiest!
Hello! I'm thrilled to know I'm not the only person in the same boat---UW, WSU, and I got into Emory too. I know I want to teach, so being able to get the education certificate while at WSU is a massive perk. And, I really don't want to drive 3 hours to Seattle once a week (I live in Camas). So I'm leaning really hard to WSU.

I have the same issue, we are in the process of relocating to Washington but I may have a month of having to fly into Seattle once a week if I chose that path (ugh). I am also interested in teaching later down the line so I wasn't sure if UW was maybe a better fit for later down the line. Interested to know about the education cert at WSU?

Here's the link to the cert: https://nursing.wsu.edu/graduate-program-options/graduate-certificates/nursing-education/. After it's completed you can sit for the Certified Nurse Educator certification. I really think it has a lot to do with where you are planning on ending up. UW has more national notoriety, but I graduated from Emory (#1 BSN program) and no one out here could give a hoot. I'm planning on staying in Clark County, so WSU makes sense. My pro/con list is practicality vs prestige, haha.
I read something where 2027 is essentially doomsday for nursing faculty (huge retirement surge), so it's probably going to end up being just like nursing where you're a warm body with the proper degree.
