Me!!!
I start a two year program at Bellevue Community College this fall, and I'm soooo excited/nervous! I know there's more Washatonians on here, they just haven't found this thread yet!
Hello Icess64! When does your program at BCC start? We (WSU) start in August - very soon and am getting a little jittery with anticipation! I have been reading the different suggestions about students using PDAs especially for clinicals - haven't decided about it yet, any input?
Nice to hear from you and welcome!!! :welcome:
Mine starts on Sept. 15th...arg! I'm getting anxious now as well! At first it was "I got in, I got in!". Now I'm more like, "holy crap, I got in..." Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy, I just know the amount of work I have ahead of me!
Not sure about the PDA thing. I still have to buy books, and money is getting pretty tight with books, uniforms, stethescopes, etc... It sounds helpful, but spendy, and I'm not sure if our instructors want us to have one or not. I don't think they would care, but I don't want to buy one and then not be able to use it. I think I'll just wait a bit...

check w/your instructor before using PDA. Some like; some don't.
Well I ended up buying one. An Axim x51. I did check with my instructor first and she recommended them if we could swing it. It's pretty nice, but I'm not all that familiar with it yet...plus I have to wait for the 2G memory card that I ordered so that I can download things and not kill the built in memory!

I am not starting nursing school this fall, but thought I would say hello anyway! I have to finish pre reqs fall and winter quarter and then I can start applying!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can only imagine how excited you all must be to start nursing school!!! I can't wait to get my pre reqs over with! I am hoping that I can get into Olympic College, but I am also applying to a few other places, BCC is one of them. I think it would be neat if we could start a washington nursing student forum.
Congrats!!!! :smiley_aa

Just wondering, did any of you consider an online program? I'm now in a grad program (FNP)...switched from WSU in a hurry--just did it initially because it was here in the state and didn't think there would be that much difference in programs, boy was I wrong. Anyway, just a warning to give it some thought if it's not too late, or if you find yourself frustrated later on. There are BSN online options out there!
Hi Brownrice --- please tell me more! I am in my third week, first trimester at WSU and am feeling overwhelmingly overwhelmed! I don't know if it is just the riggors of nursing school or if it is me or WSU in particular. Why did you switch "in a hurry"? I am at the Yakima site where there are only 20 people in my classes -- though there are more in actuality since we are part of the WHETS program. I keep thinking things will fall into place soon (fingers crossed) and I won't be feeling so fragmented. Anyway, I am interested to hear more about your reasons for choosing online rather what WSU. Thanks and happy schooling!!
Ha, what kind of slip was that? meant to say first semester, not first trimester ---- I hope that kind of slip doesn't lead to . . . . (haha)
