Do you ever want to escape nursing profession?
Hello all, Please be honest with your answer. Do you ever want to escape nursing profession? When it snows outside, nurses are supposed to drive on the dangerous freeway to the hospital to take care of the patients. This is true story, it happened to me. When I was on the freeway on a snowy day, there were cars sliding left and right, I risked my life to go to work. If I don't, my employer would make me feel bad about myself. That day, I took me a very long time to drive to the hospital. I finally arrived to the hospital safely. Guess what happened next? My charge nurse told me that I got low census and they didn't need me for the day. The staffing office told me that they left me a voice message. My phone did not show any voice message. I never received a voice message from the staffing office. Do you ever experience something similar? Please share!

Why Do Nurses Quit?
I graduated as a new RN with BSN degree when I was 22. I was very excited about my nursing career and was ready to change the world. I started my first nursing job at a big hospital on medical/surgical unit on night shift. I did not like night shifts because it made my brain/mind very loopy and cloudy. 1.5 years later, I switched to day shift on cardiac/telemetry unit. This was a little better. However, it was very stressful because patients' acuity was high and things can change any second. My work phone constantly went on. It was hard to take lunch break and bathroom break. I was in nursing field for 8 years. One day, I decided that enough is enough. I took charge of my career and changed my life. Now I am an Internet entrepreneur and living the dot com lifestyle. No more boss, no more patients, no more running around like a chicken without head.

Working Nights is Making me Sick
Hey, Sorry to hear about your night shift sickness. If you are currently working in a hospital, you might want to consider working for a clinic instead? Clinic is slower pace. Then again, if you are brand new, that option might not be available for you. Employers want experience. Have you considered a career change? That's exactly what I did after 8 years working as an RN. I love my new career and I'm definitely less stressed. If you're interested in the possibility of a career change, send me a private message for more details. Night shift is hard. I remembered old patients get extremely confused at nights. They tried to climb out of bed and put out their IVs. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. whew!

Can WA state nurses work in other states?
Everyone is welcome to answer these question: Can WA state nurses work in other states? In another words, if you got your RN license from one state, can you work for other states? For example, you want to live in a different state or you want to be a travel nurse? One more question, what states tend to pay more wage/salary for RN (new graduate, or experienced RN, or just nurses in general)? Thanks everyone in advance! Good day....!!!!
