Want to quit New Grad job at LTC during orientation

Published

So, I started my first nursing job at LTC last week and I've only been on the floor five times. During this week, I have been floated to a different unit and have been trained by four different people AND have been left alone to do the work for hours on end. I feel so unsupported and helpless. I haven't received a lunch yet and no one checks on me or offers to give me a break. Plus they still use paper MARS, half of which are falling out of the book and I constantly feel like I am going to make a mistake. Im giving meds to residents and I don't even know why they get them as I still haven't had time to read their charts. I have two interviews coming up, one at a hospital and one a community clinical and I am ready to never show up at this facility again! Help!

I see you've already made your mind up about quitting the LTC position. Hopefully you'll receive an offer elsewhere. Good luck with your future career endeavors.

A no brainer , move on. Make sure they at least know how to cut you a check.
