Want to guarantee NCLEX passing, what do I do?

Published

I took my Nclex in early July and to my disappointment failed with 75 questions. I was extremly disappointed with myself and be myself up pretty hard for a week or so. I really under estimated this test I think. I started preping about 10 days before the test using only the Kaplan book review and a CD one of my professors gave me. All together I did about 1500 prep questions before the test. Im now looking to take a course but dont know which to take. The kaplan book didnt help me obviously. I felt the hints they gave on how to break down questions apply to only 10% of the questions. Is the kaplan course similiar or will it better prepare me? Ive heard the kaplan course is good but I dont want to buy the kaplan course if its the book all over again, just more questions. Does anyone have any advice? Again please dont make fun of me for failing in 75 questions, I already feel like an idiot. I'm motivated and ready to bust my butt to do what I need to do to get this behind me. I just need a fool proof plan to play by.

I believe the Kaplan course (and maybe Hurst as well) will pay for you to take the course again if you fail NCLEX.

However, there is no way to guarantee a passing score on the NCLEX. The best thing that you can do is develop an organized study plan and consistently review both core content and practice questions.

The Kaplan Course does guarantee that you will pass the NCLEX. HOWEVER, you do have to abide by their study plan which includes doing all of the Question Trainers and practice tests.

Continue to study. Persistence wins out in the end.

Kaplan will give you your money back if you failed, or they will stick with you to study again. As for your amount of questions, research says to do more than 3000 questions before the NCLEX. Maybe that's where the issue was lying??

Try Kaplan again, everyone I know who took and passed the NCLEX swear by it. I take my NCLEX next week I have been using Kaplan, Virtual ATI (Which I recommend for content they also have great reviews and assessments), I am using Saunders for content as well, NCLEX made incredibly easy, and Exam Cram.. I have done so many questions and when I first started doing practice questions I was horrible, I have really gained a lot of confidence and also increased my score dramatically.

Also, look for review sheets on these forums! There's a lot of great ones, like https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/those-who-need-170163.html

YOU CAN DO IT

Study study study! Review rationales! And don't overload yourself, try starting with 200 questions a day and then build from there! Best of luck!

Oh, and PS- Kaplan has a 98% pass rate and Virtual ATI has a 97% pass rate.. Look into them!
