Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

I was told that by advising before they were accepted. I took it as a couple of the 61 dropped that was why they were accepting more alternates. They may have opened more seats, I'm not sure.

It's totally weird!! The only way that I could see those sections was through the "future students" and "search for sections" tools. Anything that I want to see as a "current student" is gone.

Do they have courses posted for spring 2017 yet?

No, not yet. I looked there 1st...lol!! I'm sure Spring 2017 won't be up until it's time to register at the end of October.

Hey everyone! Congrats on all of the acceptance letters!!! I'm so happy for you all! I have a friend who is waiting to hear, I was going to help her figure out her points but I don't remember the scale...can anyone share that with me? Thanks!!

Hey Aperegoy!! How's FTCC going? I'm in your old alternate position shy a few points full acceptance. You being accepted gives me tremendous hope! Anywho, the information that you need is in the online information session. Do you remember how to login? Login blackboard, course search "nursing" and you will see the nursing information session link. Hope this helps and your friend is accepted! Best wishes!

I am new to allnurses but have been checking this forum a lot recently! I just received my letter that I am an alternate. Unfortunately health advising wouldn't confirm my point count but I know I am somewhere in the 160s. I can't believe the points were so high this spring!

Hi and welcome Cgw1234!! Congrats on your alternate status! I'm an alternate also! They did is wrong increasing those numbers like that..LOL! I mean, I was completely floored! I think we will be fine though. How many points are you away from cut off?

I didn't take all of my pre req courses at wake tech, so I am not sure if I added my points the way advisors did. I believe I am around 164!

Those are great points! I'm sure you'll get in! I didn't take any courses at wake tech. All my courses came from different schools. The wait on my alternate number is driving me crazy.

Hey everyone and again.... Congratulations. Haven't received a letter yet, after the points being posted on here I found out I missed it all at 147 points while shopping at BJs with my kids. I had to leave all groceries etc. couldn't keep from crying. Really wasn't prepared to hear no. I'm in a strange boat because I challenged the CNA and took no classes this semester to even boost my points up for the fall if I should apply then. I will need to come up 200 hours and take teas exam. So, I'm over it now. Ready to move on I guess. Maybe get out of debt so when I get in the program, won't really have to work full time.
