Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Published

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Laila34, we are in the same boat! I am so eager to hear next month! All of my coworkers and friends keep asking me if I've heard anything yet (seeing as though I turned my application in way back in May). I'm hoping we get letters sooner than October. It seems as though last cycle they were sent 9/18. Health science advising said that letters should be mailed before the end of September.

Yeessss!!! I'm sure you're even more anxious since May! I noticed the last cycle date also but that was based off of July 1st deadline and without the summer grades. How long ago did health advising say September?? I sure hope so!!!

I didn't even think about that! You're so right! 9/18 was based off of the 7/1 application deadline. I was told by health science advising about letters being sent out before September about two weeks ago.

2 weeks ago?! That's great!! So if that is true, then we should be getting letters around September 23rd right?? If so, that's 44 days away...my heart is racing :roflmao: COMMENCE THE WAIT!! :wacky::cat:

The struggle is real yall, lol......however, its gotten better. I cant stress enough how much God is really keeping my mind in perfect peace. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God". Now, I'm just chilling. I've actually gotten the idea and into the habit of doing things that may not be possible when in the program with the hopes that if it becomes my routine now, then I can incorporate it into life as a student. I've also began blogging (keepcalmandbecomethatRN.BlogSpot.com). And geesh is it hot, ready to decorate and enjoy the fall.

Whoa, thats a month and two weeks from now! this month is gonna fly by and the next thing you know, the letters are sent:nailbiting:. Praying that this group will get in! You all deserve it! I have registered into a CNA refresher course this October, planning to take the test again 45 days before my license expires (December). It is my plan B since I am still applying and waiting to get hired. Anyway, I probably should schedule the TB test and register to take that BLS class too. So much to do! I've been going back to the hospital, for about for 6 times in less than 4 weeks (surgery and blood tests), once my levels are stable, I'll be on all of these requirements. Fall class starts next week too! :banghead:

Hi ladies, random question for my friends who have applied: when was your last math class? I feel like I am the only person who is getting close to hitting the five year mark on my math course. Although I did well on the Accuplacer, I still kind of feel like the odd one out.

CN_2bRN919 my last math class was decades ago, lol. My math qualifications is only through Accuplacer test that I took in 2014.

I know NUR only looks at the first four sections on the Accuplacer (010-040). Do you remember what you scored WSMom, CNA? I think the score requirement is a 7 or higher on those sections? Is that correct? I took the Accuplacer but did not meet with an advisor after getting my scores.

WSmom, best wishes on your CNA refresher course! I hope your levels are stable and you get a good report from your doctors. You'll be fine! As far as work as a CNA, I've been applying and waiting to get hired also. It's harder than I thought but that's probably bc I can only work certain days, like the weekend.

CN_2BRN919, my last math class was FALL 2011, so you're not alone..LOL!!

Laila34, did you take the Accuplacer as well? If so, how long ago?

No, I didn't take the accuplacer and I'm not sure what that is. I've taken pre calculus trigonometry and statistics.
