Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Hi everyone!! I just finished my Cna class Monday and will be taking my exam on August 6. I'm extremely nervous any advice on what to expect. I'm going to open lab tonight and all next week. I love this board. It's so encouraging to read all your comments. I will be applying in January. Can't wait to start this new journey in my life.

Thanks ladies!! The course ends Monday and I'm not sure about my classmates Jpeters bc my course is online. If I keep the A that I have in my class, I should be applying with between 168-173 points. [Hopefully the department will be adding up the same classes as I did.] *fingers crossed* Also, I did speak with an advisor and he mentioned that the point threshold MIGHT be between 150-160's. It will definitely be lower than FALL 2016's 162 starting points. He also said that they probably won't start looking at applications until the end of August bc of summer classes and the extended application deadline. We should know our status between September and October.

Hi! Congrats! Don't be nervous about NACES. The written are "common sense" questions. As far as skills, if you're not comfortable, I would suggest that you do 2 skills a day up until exam day. Practice, practice, practice! Best wishes!

Man would under 150 be great. I'm feeling a little lonely down here by myself, lol. BW told me that according to past Springs, that score minus the 50 points from teas seemed normal for this time around. Waiting for Teas results about 2 people also had in the 140's. Any who.........question......... am I the only person who has been eyeing videos on getting prepared to nursing school and or what to buy like the Erin Condren planner, lol. Or am I the only one thinking that I'm in the program already, lol.

Hey ladies!! Can you believe that today is the LAST day to submit your application?? If you mail it in today, then you will be fine. As long as the postal stamp on your envelope is marked today. Time is flying by and before we know it, it will be acceptance letter open time!! Best wishes loves!

Jpeters247, what do you mean by "that score minus the 50 points from the TEAS seemed normal"? What score are you referring to? Also, you mentioned some were waiting for TEAS results, and 2 other people had in the 140's. Were you referring to two other people on this forum, or two other applicants Ms. BW had spoken with?

Jpeters247 I am really hoping that its at least 140's too. Like I said, my classmate told me that some from the summer class students have estimated 140's points too. I like that you are very proactive. I probably should look into videos like that.

Happy August friends! I thought August would never come! Two words: next month! Let the countdown commence! I looked back at the spring 2016 forum a week or so ago, and saw that applicants got there letters the week of 9/18. Hopefully the same holds true for this cycle. If so, then only 47 days!!

So CN2BRN, what I gathered by BW comment was that past Spring semesters students usually applied in the 140's and up and what brought them to having a total of 180-190 was the 50 points added from their TEAS. Last Spring points were 180 or so, that meant that 50 of those points came from TEAS. I guess that's what she meant.
