When I got my first job as a new nurse, I was so stressed out just by that alone ...... by being a new graduate nurse, getting used to the unit/people, and trying to learn everything. I can't imagine if I had gone to school on top of all that, part time or not. Being a new nurse, at least for me, was probably the hardest thing I've ever done.
So for me personally, I would wait. But you have to do what's best for you. Good luck to you, I wish you all the best.

OK I tried this in the NP thread but I didn't get any responses.
I'm going to be graduating in a year and half from nursing school. I want to go on to get my DNP at the University I'm currently at. Their program is a four year part time which would allow me to work full time. Is it wise to go straight into school again and work as an RN? Or would it better to take time off, get a few years of experience and then apply to NP school?
