I applied to Excelsior in March and send in the $60. and my application. After hearing nothing, I called and was told they were waiting for my transcripts. I sent them and in May I called again to check on the status of my application. This time they were waiting for a transcript from a university where I had taken a single psych class. I told them to process it without that class because it didn't matter anyway, since I had other psych classes on the transcripts. By mid-July I still had heard nothing and when I called again. They said they were still waiting for that same psych class that I had told them to eliminate. Supposedly they are processing it now without the class and I am again waiting.......
Is there an end to the waiting. All I want is to get started and get through this! Anyone else have this experience? Celeste

Not yet....I'm going to apply & enroll soon though. Have you taken the first 2 NC exams yet? You know you can do those without officially being enrolled in EC. I plan on faxing all my info initially - I was told it would expedite the process. Good luck to you!

Have you created a MyEC account yet? You might want to go ahead and do this so you can track your transcripts, grades, and progress. I as actually able to do this before I got officially accepted, so it's worth a try: https://www.excelsior.edu/portal/page?_pageid=57,77242&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
It's much easier to keep track of your transcripts this way than to keep calling EC, and they will post when they receive all of them.

Hey... I applied for admission to Excelsior about 2 wks ago and have not heard anything yet. I e-mailed them to see what was the hold up and they said it takes up to 3 wks; although they cashed my check for $65 already. Of Course.... Anyway, I'm like you, just anxiously awaiting. I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.

You can take NC 1 and 2 without being enrolled, but to go any further, you have to enroll. That's the way it is here in LA anyway. I have taken 1 already and am studying for 2. I just applied for admission and am waiting to hear something. I guess once that's done I'll have to send them my big check for eight hundred and something dollars. I bet they can't wait for that! Ha Ha

I'm in the same boat you are....except I have to get my butt in gear and apply. Passed NC1 yesterday and started studying for 2.
Let me know how long it takes!

Well do not wait too long... it took me many years When I finally did it, it was almost too late because the state of CA no longer excepts EC graduates as of 12/03.
So kick it into gear do whatever you have to. Its your education. I was extemely lucky. I had no pre reqs, but I did have to send my transcripts from my nursing school and a copy of my LVN license, before I new it I was enrolled. I did the payment plan, before I new it I had paid it off. I have no nsg concepts under my belt but I have finished 4 pre reqs already. I will be finished with 6 by 12/04. I am going to start doing my nsg concepts 1/05. I had to get a few pre reqs out of the way. So again do whatever you have to :)

Yeah..Excelsior is slow to process. I'm going through the same thing but the counselor told me I was a shoe in so I just bought the books for the classes I knew I was going to take. I'm studying now while I am waiting for the official paper. That's my way of dealing with all the waiting

I am so lost! If you check my post "this will make me sound so dumb...." I have an acct from when Excelsior was Regents. All of the books and Study guides were included and I paid almost $5000 for the program. Someone suggested I buy study guides (are they no longer included) and above, someone mentioned sending $800. Is that a payment? I am so confussed. Good luck to all of those who are waiting. Stay as motivated as you are today, I wish I had.

If you paid $5000 for a program it was a third-party publisher, not Regents or Excelsior. The $800 is the enrollment fee for the first year, and includes the free content guides (actually you can get those without being enrolled), the priviledge of being able to pay for and take exams, the various online resources/chats. Everything else is pay as you go, which is the best part of the program, for me.

OP, I'm not sure we get to tell a college to disregard a particular school or transcript. I just finished Excelsior--it was my third degree and probably my 6th or 7th school (I'd have to check), and I've never applied to a school that would take me without my complete official straight-from-the-school transcript.
Maybe you can get onto the school that hasn't sent it? That would seem to be a quicker solution than to try to convince Excelsior they don't need it. :)
For what you get with Excelsior, the tuition and fees are pretty low. Not as cheap as a community college or a state school, but look at what you would pay for tuition at an out of state or private school, and you'll start feeling pretty lucky.
Plus, that $840 (or whatever it is now, for a year's fees) lets you take as many classes as you want. I did the equivalent of 7 semester courses (that's what each of those NC's is) in three months.... then the CPNE two months to the day from my last NC (got in on somebody's cancellation--the wait is technically much longer). I could start another degree!
I really liked Excelsior--I think you will too, but like anything else, it takes effort and a positive attitude. I am grateful they exist, and I think I got a heck of a good deal, financially.
