Waiting for NCLEX results

Published

I took my NCLEX (Colorado) on Thursday and am still patiently waiting. I just graduated with my BSN and ended up with 185 questions! I know I definately got the last question right before it shut off, but I am sooo nervous. I didnt feel this nervous about my LPN NCLEX am I just nuts? :bugeyes:Unfortunately Monday is a holiday so I think I will be waiting five days for results that should take 2!!

I don't remember the brands exactly but use ones that have the CD's with the practice questions. I think just the act of answering questions in that format helped. Plus, it was a great way to study since it gave me rationales. I hope this helps!

RD Congo,

I used the learningext.com and saunders NCLEX prep CD. I found the learningext.com most helpful. I used it for about 1 hr per night 3-4 times a week for 2 weeks and then took the test. Hope that helps.

So waiting for the results??!!?? I have heard so many stories. I am in VA and some people that I have recently talked to said they waited 7 days before they found out they had passed. I took my test June 30 and it stopped at 85 questions? Most of my friends found out within 2 to 3 days while others are still waiting and slowly finding out! Has anyone ever heard of people finding out they passed well after the 3 to 4 day wait? It's so nerve racking!

Been reading the boards for awhile since I finished my nursing degree. I just took the test yesterday. I went with a friend and we both took it together. I finished in 75 questions and she did in 156. We both felt we bombed it, but today she found out she passed on the BoN along with most of the others in my class who took it yesterday. My name, however, didnt show up. I thought perhaps it was because there was an issue with sending my transcripts to the BoN, because they were only sent out yesterday. I called them and they said they received the transcripts, so now I am wondering if they received them late so they didn't post my name today. Everyone who took it yesterday has passed and they all ended on 75 questions.

I tell you, the anxiety of waiting for those results is like nothing I ever experienced, even in 4 years of nursing school. Anyone else think its almost a special kind of torture that they make you wait two days? Before the test, I thought two days was nothing. Afterwards, it seems like an eternity. Anyways, I feel what everyone else is going through now, but for me its like other people who took it the same day I did already found out if they passed and my name didnt show up.

Yep this story plays itself out most too, too frequently.

When I took my boards eons ago before the instant computer updates I had to live through a few weeks of anguish.

When I entered the testing center a friend was there already.

75 questions later my test cut off hers was still going.

3 weeks later she had her results in hand I didn't.

I called the board of nursing: "Oh your results were mailed to you, we will check. No we won't tell your anything over the phone".

Two weeks later received a big envelope from the board of nursing. We had been told anything that came from the board in a big envelope was bad news because it was all the papers one had to refile to retest.

Well needless to say I went from one super sad moment to dancing at the mail box...

OK so I should have just said good things come to those who wait

I heard one way to find out sooner if you've passed the NCLEX is to g to your state board's web site as if to file a grievance against a nurse. In my state, it generates a list of all those who hold a nursing license. Apparently the individuals who pass have their names immediately populating on the state boards' databases. Don't file the grievance on yourself.

congratulations

Looking up license information is easy (too easy).

Board of Nursing site >>> License verification >>> type in information >>> someone now has your license number and address.
