hi! i'm a new member in this forum. i just want to ask something about re-applying for the NCLEX-RN exam...

i took my exam last march 9, 2007 in HK and up until now, still no result from CA BON. Almost 9 weeks so I'm pretty sure that I didn't pass. Anyway, is it okei if I apply in another state like Vermont (I'm already a CGFNS and IELTS certificate holder) or Maryland (where I got a job offer) if I still don't have my official result?

Another question is that, how come it's taking this long for my result to come by mail? My cousin took her NCLEX exam in CA last March 20 and she got her result in the mail in the PI barely 4 weeks after and she passed!

Would appreciate any reply...Thank's!

I suggest to contact CA BRN, pass/fail results doesn't take that long to inform you by mail....at least that's what I know based from my friends who are also for CA.

another friend told me that her result came a month after but another one said his gf's result came 2 months after (both failed results)! CA BON should also have the quick result so that we don't have to wait this long...newei, thank's for the advice!:nurse:

CA does not issue you a license unitil you actually have a SSN#, so that is one reason that they do not participate in Quick Results. Also, they will permit a new CA grad to sit for the NCLEX exam before their final transcripts arrive from the school, and again, they cannot issue them a license until they have a completed file.

CA BRN sends out all results after about 2 1/2 weeks, does not matter if is pass or no pass. The issue is that you did not receive the letter. Contact them and have them issue the letter again. Or you may be waiting and waiting and waiting. You need to allow time for the mail to reach your country.

You can't reapply to CA until you know your results. They are the ones that send you the form to resubmit if you do not pass.

Even if you get a passing result from CA BRN on the NCLEX exam, you do not have a license to endorse; you are going to need to go thru the License by Examination process for Maryland if that is where you wish to work.

And then have CA forward a copy of the passing to them, or if you did not pass, then you can just take the test for them. The endorsement process is not available to you. So suggest that you definitely get the process started now.

Please be aware that Maryland also has a language requirement before they will let you test for them.

And to answer your other post: Most agencies take about $5 per hour from your pay, if you are going to be their employee. And that works out to about $10,000 per year of your contract.

in florida if you search "florida healthcare provider" you can find results on anyone that has any kind of health liscense for free, public knowledge and it was there 18 hours after exam..

call the boards, waiting too long

hope that helps

hi suzanne! if in case, i start applying for licensure by exam at MD and got my eligibility and take my exam, it doesn't matter whether I pass or fail my NCLEX exam in CA as long as I don't have a license in CA, am I understanding it correctly? My IELTS is expiring on Sept 29, 2007. Can I still apply for the CES after it expires or I need to take another IELTS exam? Do you know how long is the processing for the CES? sorry for the questions...it's just so confusing sometimes...

CA BON should also have the quick result so that we don't have to wait this long...

That is up to the state; it's the state's prerogative. We can only suggest, nothing more.

If were the state(CA BON), I'd want to have QR(Quick Result), NURSYS license verification(for a hassle-free, cost effective license endorsement, etc), NLC(Nurse Licensure Compact) and Issuance(and renewal of the license)of the hard/physical license with the online CA license verification(permanent license verification in the CA BON website) even without SSN.:typing Again, I'd emphasize, IF I WERE(the CA state BON)...

This poster is from the Philppines, hence, the CA BRN does not issue a license to them until they have a SSN#.

And same thing with Florida, if the nurse does not have a SSN#, they will not issue them a license until they get to the US and are ready to work. These questions are posted on the International Forum, as the nurses are usually under different requirements than those from the US.
